Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone .
Sad news it was our friend they found in the Mary River .
Robbie was a cattle farmer had a property about a K from our old farm .
He sure had some bad times in his life , their son was killed in a traffic accident when he was around 18ys (he had just joined the ADF ) leaving just their daughter she would have been about 15/16 at the time . They were also caught up in the Deildrin problem . For those that don't know Deildrin was a poison for termites , most (not all) spayed it around their cattle yards . Robbies farm was quarantined and all his cattle killed , Deildrin can kill humans if ingested (don't really know how) , But he also had a forestry lease at a place called Hunters Hut , its between maryborough and Aramara on the Biggenden rd . So he still had cattle . There used to be cattle sales at "Sinclairs" down where the Maryborough Taff is now Lesley , he always had the best cattle for sale . He was a very respected man in the cattle industry . He will be missed by many ....including us .

Good morning folks. Well this morning we are splashing a friends boat back into the Murray. We started on Monday changing it over from an old Mervruiser & now going to 90 hpnda. Also done pontoons & installed a grey water tank. Hope it floats!!

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning all. Very sad news Bernie. It’s always sad to lose a friend.
Spent 3 hours yesterday in the stinking heat, 36 degrees I think, working at the Bunnings sausage sizzle for the Croquet Club. Thank goodness we are leaving for 3 months on Tuesday. The weather should be nice and cool when we return at the end of May.

Re: Good morning daily
So sad Bernie, condolences to you both. Talking about Dieldron, we had to build a feed lot and put animals in for 100 days before sale. To gt poisioning from dieldron a person would have to eat a fully grown beast in 1 day to be affected! We were told that by the “big wigs”. That poison was used to kill cane grubs. Worst part about feed lot ours was behind house on SE corner and guess where our breezes always came? SE. The smell was horrendous especially when it rained. Those were the days. Oops forgot to say good morning everyone. Might have to ring my knee man- dam thing is very sore this morning enough to cause a limp.

Re: Good morning daily
Bernie, I'm sorry to hear about your mate.
We are parked in the free camp behind the pub at Exeter. The beer was cold and the grass parking area is flat enough.
I just had the crappiest 24 hours. We left Launceston and then headed up to Georgetown. I was taking a pic of the sunset and dropped my phone. Broke the screen. Rang the local Telstra store in Launceston this morning and the girl there really wasn't interested in helping much at all, so i rang a phone fixing mob. They quoted me $260 as a minimum and it would take at least til Tuesday. So we drove back to Launceston. Parked in the main drag, just down from the town hall and walked around to the Telstra store. The sales guy could not have been more helpful. I now have a new phone and he managed to transfer all my holiday pics and contacts etc on it. He did it using the smart shift app, which was rather challenging as it was all guess work were the buttons on the broken screen were. They only lightened me up $190 for the phone and my plan now has an extra 5gig of data. I upsold myself a screen protector, and have spent a while redoing all my passwords etc that didn't carry over.

Re: Good morning daily
Seems to be a lesson in that Dave....dont drop your phone . Good morning , are you going back to George Town ? We camped at Garden Island other side of the river just north of Beaconsfield , for a week and a bit , done all our sight seeing from there , IE all the north east coast. Crossed the Batman bride a few times .
Morning Bob we had a shower for 15 min or so yesterday arvo nothing since ...but supposed to be raining today ??
Hi everyone else , enjoy your day...safely ..
Bernie .
