Trying to find a Continuous Hinge or Living Hinge

Post by Craig »

Hi all,
The continuous hinge also known as a living hinge has failed on my teardrop camper. It is the full width hinge that runs full width on my camper. It is about 50mm wide and a couple of meters long.

I have been unable to find a supplier here in Australia so if anyone knows of any please advise.

Thanks guys, I have tried all these but no luck. Unfortunately these companies sell it by the roll. And it is around $1200 for the roll. I was hoping that someone may have used the product and knew of a supplier in Australia that sold the hinge to the length I need. I can't justify buying a 50' roll for 1200 and only using 4'. I am still waiting for a return phone call from one company, so you never know, they may be the one.

I may end up making something by the looks of it.

Regards Craig.

Can you use a piano hinge with a flexible plastic/rubber membrane cover to waterproof it?

Although the Dunn and Watson looks the goods. :D Another good site.

Maybe this would be OK, don't know what length you need, but perhaps send them a message and see if they can do longer.

Craig, try Coastline RV in Centre view dve Biggera Waters QLD. I am sure Ian had a roll of that hinge stuff in his store. I can't post the link , but call and talk to Ian, he will know what you are talking about. He has been in the business since ever.
