And here I was expecting you to turn up here in Girt to help lay my pavers. It is hard to find good help when you need it.
Sorry to see you have had a little set back and wishing you all the best. Cheers John and Faye

Re: Greynomad
You were expecting him to turn up to lay pavers and you fell for that "I broke my ribs" line! Who has actually seen his broken ribs? Nobody, that's who.Riverlander wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 9:32 am And here I was expecting you to turn up here in Girt to help lay my pavers. Ray sounds like it was fortunate that you went to Corowa hospital & the fluid in the lungs was discovered, think SWMBO is taking very good care of you, worrying time, hope you're improving daily & will soon be allowed home to your love one.

Re: Greynomad
Bernie,
There was blood in the fluid, but it wasn’t 100% blood.
Was drained using a large diameter syringe
which treating dr said I wouldn’t want to see!
However, the screen for the ultrasound was placed where I could see it. Asked what the white thing was that flapped like a flag when I breathed in. It was the uninflated part of my lung!

Shirley,
I certainly am a lucky bloke to have chosen SWMBO for my life partner 40+years ago. She proved her mettle when I was diagnosed with what the Drs said was a rapidly terminal cancer in 1994! She dug in & insisted they treat me with everything in their arsenal.
After I had been in hospital about 10 months, a nurse observed to her that a diagnosis like mine more often than not broke marriages, where it had, in her observation, strengthened ours.
It took 22 years, but together we beat it. Remission in January 2016.
Still looking after me the same way. Lucky me!

Re: Greynomad
Looks like SWMBO will once again have the privilege (?
?) of looking after me soon.
Dr on morning rounds told me that I am ready to go home
today.

Only delay is how soon Dr can write the prescriptions I need & pharmacy deliver them!

Re: Greynomad
Finally cleared to depart hospital at 16:30 Monday!!!
Breathing is lots easier now that a soft drink bottle’s worth of muck was drained from my lung.
Now down from wheely-walker to a walking stick for support. Still get breathless sometimes after a mild bit of exertion. Working on fitness levels...
Coughing is not as painful as it was, although still some pain. Downing painkillers like lollies.
Still have to sleep on a foam wedge pillow thingy for a while to ensure no more fluid buildup in the lung.
Sleep is surprisingly easy despite the slope.
All I gotta do now is wait while the ribs mend themselves.

Re: Greynomad
" tanks" here---Ray,
It is good to hear that you are recovering in familiar surroundings, and that your condition is improving.
Are you thinking of getting away from the cold winter and heading North to sunny Queensland---only around 12 weeks to winter now.
Will you be fit to drive in that time. What you suffered would be a major injury, and it may take more time to get back on track.

I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Re: Greynomad
Typical Ray, started to get better then the attention is a bit less so you have to do something again to get the 100% attention back but no need to go to those extremes. Glad you are on the mend once again. Cheers D & G xx
