Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Have not done any ironing for years, waste of electricity, money and bad for the environment and my health.
Having said that if buying again I would just buy from Aldi for the warranty and ease of returning.

No 12 year old should be doing your ironing.
I'm the same, can't remember when last ironed anything and I play in a band. All we do is hang out clothes in the wind and that's it. Had a visitor stay with me last year they asked for my iron, had to tell them didn't have one, the last one got left in a room somewhere and was never replaced. She was a bit shocked and a bit pissed off, just told her to hang the clothes in the wind and they will be ironed in a few minutes. Don't think she's coming back for another visit, luckily.
The younger generation don't even know what an iron is or how to use it ?
I hang polo shirts etc., on coat hangers to dry, don't need ironing but being old school I sometimes still run an iron over them, never take one away with us & manage ok.
When I was a kid, everything got ironed, hankies, underwear, you name it, it was there to iron and I did a lot of that, under duress. Damp cloth to steam them and iron put on the wood stove to heat up, burnt a few things by being over zealous with the heat and not watching, or leaving the hot iron sitting to burn through whatever it was sitting on.

It was much the same when I was young. Except we had the electricity by then. Still burnt a lot of stuff. Does anyone remember having nylon school shirts. Melted a few of them. Probably on purpose. I hated ironing then, still do. I was going to say that we don't have an iron anymore but I am reliably informed that we still do.

When I was a kid, my mother starched the pillow cases, table cloths etc., & they were all were dampened & rolled before being ironed, guess that was before steam irons came on the market.
