Battling the Virus

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Battling the Virus

Post by Greynomad »

Fed Govt has announced that it is recruiting 20,000 new nurses.
Just learned that Son-and-Heir (Critical Care Nurse Educator) will be leading the Victorian training of theatre & anaesthetic qualified nurses to upgrade their quals to Critical Care status.
New recruits will be replacing experienced ward nurses while they upgrade to go into theatre & anaesthesia duties.
In IT that’s called a ‘cascading upgrade’...

Ray, could you pass on our thanks, and I'm sure the rest of our forum members too, to all those involved in the current health care crisis, via son and heir.
I hope that makes sense.
Cheers

You never know, Dottie.
You might be able to release a younger ward nurse for ICU duties.

Still werkin. Those of us doing community care don't have ppe.... Taken to carrying bin bags just in case. We figure in mental health the worst is yet to come. For now we focus on keeping people well and out of ED and beds. Interesting times.

I can't imagine being locked up inside the house would be good for those already suffering depression and the whole virus threat and job losses wouldn't be good for those with anxiety. I'm guessing those that were borderline will be pushed over the edge as time goes on and with no light at the end of the tunnel at the moment it's very hard to think positively.
I'm fortunate that I'm still busy so that keeps me occupied, when the work dries up it might be a very different story.
