Social Distancing Question

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

I don't know about cheap cruises but there may be some very cheap cruise liners.

The smart money will be buying the princess ships really cheaply and re purposing them as massive mobile hospitals, ready to sail to the highest bidder when the next one rolls around..................

Make a great fishing charter boat for those that like to fish and relax afterwards with a few drinks and a comfy bed to sleep in. Maybe a max of a 5 day cruise so they are on and off the ship well before any symptoms show up ;)
It would make a great sea change blue water cruiser too, you could invite lots of friends to fly in via helicopter when you near land some where and they can fly out again at the next land fall or when ever they wear out their welcome

Boats aside......no matter who lives in the big hose in Canberra over the next few years we are all going to be living in a very different world to that which we are accustomed.........

If we can all accept that, things will go much more smoothly for all, we all need to help in achieving that end.

Cruise ships are only massive hotels/resorts afloat, they have never interested us, rather fly to a South Pacific Island for a holiday.

You could buy up a few Virgin planes as well and do private charter flights for those abandoned away from home, next will be private hotels so grab a few of those as well so you can quarantine those that come off the ships and the planes ... add a few busses to move them around and you could sell it as a package deal .......

Hopefully we learn from this mess and start supporting our local manufacturing rather than the global economy idea, at least we didn't have to go to war to see the whole ideal fall in a heap.

Ya gotta wonder about the Aussie Govt buying up cheap crude oil, yet storing it in the US. Don't we have huge tanks still at Kurnell at the old Caltex refinery? Even if we have the crude oil, we no longer have refineries to crack it into lube oil and fuel ..... Wouldn't it be smarter to buy up copper while it's cheap, the switch to electric vehicles will have zero use for the crude oil but local manufacturing could certainly use the copper.

Intelligence is not a requirement to become a politician, just adherence to the ideology of the party, or system. Oil is no different to all our resources, they give them away then we pay to get them or inferior commodities back. Nothing makes sense in our political system, not even voting.
