Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Cuppa and Mrs T how's things your way
Hi Helen & all, we are enjoying the FNQ weather although we are now into 'doona' nights. MrsTea likes a warm snuggle & cool nose, I'm missing the 'sheet only'. At 450m above sea level it's possible that nightwear may eventually become necessary & that we'll need to close the windows! Early mornings are often foggy.

Last night was a bit different, there was a bush fire a few kms from us & it became quite smoky a little before sunset, making the sun turn red.

Missie Houdini has now been sharing the chook run with Hettie & Rodney for a while. Mrschookexpert has been conducting some family therapy with them & reports that Hettie's animosity, whilst still present has lessened a little, & that Rodney seems to be curbing his 'amour' a bit. Instead of his excited wing flapping followed by rape, he just shuffles his wings a little & looks hopeful ...... and sometimes gets lucky. Missie comes down of her high perch enough to get sufficient food & water - which we are quite relieved about.

A moment of excitement here yesterday - a new bird (for here) spotted from the veranda. An adult female Red-winged parrot. This takes our lockdown species count to a grand total of ....... drum roll .........16. (Woo hoo).

Good morning all. We had 12mm of rain overnight here on the lake. It looks like winter is on the way with snow predicted in the high country in the next few days. We are looking forward to the lifting of travel restrictions as we may be able to head off homeward then.
In the mean time I will have to content myself with making a few bird feeders and plant hangers. There is a little cluster of blue wrens in the shrubs here are they are constantly flitting about.
I ran into an old workmate the other day while doing essential shopping. He only lives around the corner. I will have to wait until the weekend to have a yack and a beer now that they have slightly relaxed the visiting rules.
Have a good day everybody.
Cheers

Does it make a monotonous woo-hoo call that goes on for hours? A lot like a mopoke (Tawny Frogmouth?)
I wish it were a Top Knot Pigeon Bruce. Have never seen one of those yet.

Last night we copped a drenching!
Again we have half the back yard spread through the carport.
The downpour was so heavy that, for the first time our garage was flooded. Water built up on the rear path until it overflowed under the back door! 😳
Guess what’s on today’s agenda?
Regards & God bless,
Ray
