Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Changed vans recently
It came with new AGM batteries as part of the deal, unfortunately one battery was developing a growth problem and tried to get out of the battery box.
Then I had to remove the 12v power supply and connect the batteries up to where it came from, upsizing the cables as I went.
It is fitted with a rearview camera, but had a huge roll of excess cable tied under the van, I removed all this and re-ran the cable, only to find that there was an open wire somewhere
So after testing the camera and running a new cable, that I thankfully had in the shed, now the camera cable is waiting for a clear day to connect it to the ute 12 pin plug. ( it's actually raining here in WA )
I fitted 300W of solar on the roof and a mmpt 30A regulator to handle it all with large cables from solar to reg. ( BTW, I'm a firm believer in LARGE Cables )
The toilet tank was leaking at the swivel seal, so replaced that seal as well.
Small earth problem from rangehood to van earth, temp wire for now, later I'll run all new earth wiring.
I fitted a mesh basket between the A frame to carry all those odd bits of wood and chocks.
Changed the drain set up so I use a clip on system and the grey hoses/pipe from Bunnings.
Fitted a new locking handle to the front boot.
Then on the "to do" list there's a diesel heater to fit, TV antenna to re fit, check for fridge power from the ute when on the road, wire up the van camera so it works in conjunction with the reverse camera, fit a tap at the front of the van, etc, etc
More to come as I get further into it to suit my way of living.

You have been a busy boy, hope it doesn't rub off on me cause my list of "jobs to do" seems to grow by the minute yet my keenness to do them is dwindling at an even faster rate.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Yes thanks for that great message I did finally get to fix that annoying bloody solar problem don’t trust auto Electrian went to my usual auto bloke but the old man had sold up to some young hippy looking young whipper snappers
The automatic door opener was not working that what I put it in for to get fixed arm and leg later but after all the trouble we had last year with the battery not been turn off probably asked to check the system out
Wrong thing to do thought it was going to be cheaper for him to look at that take it back to the person that installed it

think thinking twenty km and a couple hundred dollars was cheaper than driving 500km next time will drive the five or six km for help

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
We packed up almost everything yesterday, so this morning it was get up, go for a walk along lake. Then we had brekky with the oldies and headed off about 10.45am.
Drove most of the day with a few rest stops.
We are now about 20k south of Coonabarabran NSW. The highway is the quietest I have ever seen it
