The Victron 800 is actually 800va or 500w continuous, the benefit is the very small standby current.

That would be THIS ONE. Yes?

We have a bar fridge at home so I can connect that up using different inverters to see just which works best and has the lowest 24hr battery draw while running the fridge so we have a base line for future reference.

That would be amazing if you could do that. Thank you.

Ha ha, that's my next problem to figure out, it has to be disabled when the ignition is turned on.
So how do you disable a circuit when you power up another?
I'm guessing something transistorised.
Will have to google.

It's just a cheap linear actuator from ebay.
Had internal limit switches, but when I first put it together they jambed up inside and the whole thing stopped working.
So dismantled it, wired it direct to the motor and used external micro switches.

Just a follow up on how to disable the actuator when the ignition is on...

It seems I can do it with a normal car relay.
But I would like to run it past the electrical guru's please.

So pin 30 is the normal power wire that feeds the actuator.
Pin 87 then goes to the actuator
Pin 86 is from the ignition switch.
Pin 85 is to ground (earth)

Does this sound right, i.e. will it kill the actuator circuit when the ignition is on?

Bernie, just make sure that you can retract the screen before you turn on the ignition.

The reason for 87a is because it's a change over. And, is normally connected when the relay (ignition) is off. Thus minimizing the battery drain.

You could also wire pin 87 to the down circuit so the TV is retracted when the ignition is lowered. Q: when you removed the internal micro switches and went external, did you move the internal diodes across too?

Thanx for that too, starting to get the idea now.

No the diodes were toast, so I have 3 wires from the micro switches to the controller, i for each switch active and a common earth.
With it wired into the controller I don't think I can easily do an auto retract??

Ray, You really should have the diodes installed. They are really smart and prevent a motor burnout.

I'll draw up a circuit and post it.
