Qld Border Closure - RELAX EVERYONE!!

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Bruce,my first thought was they are there to make the State Government look good ,like they are doing something to help stop Covid 19,then it hit me.............I'm such a trust worthy looking guy

P.S. The road block was one kilometer before the turn off to Leongatha, if you don't turn off you land up at Phillip Island(the holiday home for Melbourne)

ad an interesting experience today whilst traveling from Bendigo to Leongatha on the South Gippsland Hwy, I was stopped by Police at a road block at Lang Lang,I was asked where I was going to and told her to home at Leongatha. She was very polite and then said have a safe trip and holiday and said I could leave. I would have thought as I was leaving the hotspot of Melbourne she would have wanted to my drivers licence to validate where home was. There were ten Police members and four defence members at the block. There was also a road block at Heathcote ,good to see some controls in place within Victoria
The number plate recognition system would have already told them. It was probably a few ks up the road before you met the coppers.

The PR fog has now definitely lifted.

Qld is scheduling 19 days straight for AFL games in their various stadia.
And they're allowing crowds to attend.
Ahem. Of course, they will ask the fans to observe 'Social Distancing'... which all fans will naturally do ever so conscientiously...

So not only are footballers from Melbourne's Covid-19 hotspots not :? contagious, rabid, disease-raddled threats to polite society.
Their fans are likewise purest sweetness and light, who can gather cheek-by-jowl without fear of spreading the deadly virus ravaging the rest of the country.

AAAARRrrrrrggghhhh!!
I am offwardly pi$$ed!

Ray, unless they have relaxed the rules for the fans recently, you must be a member of one of the participating teams to get in. With the recent opening of the border there are a lot more travellers about, but most of them just keep heading north. So, there still aren't going to be any big crowds at the footy unless they can pinch the Grand Final. But realistically with the shortened quarters it isn't the same. 2020 will be remembered as a 'building' year, and the year that covid hit. Not for much else, so far.

David,
I’m only going by what I saw on the ABC NEWS24 last night.
I am trusting that, even if they can’t spell, they can still report the facts reasonably accurately.

Ron, that's priceless. I was thinking the same thing as I read Ray's post.
However, regulations and requirements are rapidly changing as the authorities attempt to stay on top of the situation. So we probably can't blame the ABC ( I was going to say Aunty) but that's not PC is it.

Sometimes facts & news coincide... 😜😁

And today’s news just confirms what I posted last night:
400+ new cases & another three deaths. 😳
