Centrelink-please teach your staff

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Centrelink-please teach your staff

Post by Macca »

A few weeks ago we went to them about renting, pension etc etc. Told that pension would be assessed on rent after Agent's commission etc was deducted.
If we continued renting after the 12 mths home would become an asset- fine.
Took papers down last week, BB home & not a happy camper. Chick he saw said" No" income assessed on total rent received which took off quite a lot of pension.
Also indicated when papers arrived back in mail that home classed as Asset immediately.
Back to them yesterday.
Saw a Manager this time.
Income is definately assessed after the commission etc is deducted. Ah that bought the pension back up considerably. She also did up new papers saying that the home not an asset until after 12 mths.
Why doesn't Hank make sure that all employees are trained & know what they are doing :x
Had my rant for to-day. Now go away bloody rain.
BB back to Police station to get final renewal of gun licence as he has joined a pistol club. Between Licencing Commission & Police station the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing here either. One says needs new photo, another says no, old one will do.
Time is passing too quickly so live life to the full with your spouse/partner while you still have she/he by your side.

Those who can, do and those who can't, teach.

The rest of the unwritten equation is, the rest join civil service.

Advise leaving pistol at home when visiting civil service. lol

Experience is a wonderful thing. It helps you recognise a mistake when repeated.

I thought it was "Those who can, do, those who can't teach, those who can't teach teach teachers, those who fail as teacher teachers make instructional videos and train public servants.
Centerlink and similar face to the pulic departments have a policy of keeping the staff floating, this way they ony stay in position long enough to learn how the system works, then they are moved to learn a new job. If they can prove that after 3 moves they don't understand any of the systems they go into the pool for middle mangement position selection. If they master the systems at even 2 of the three departments they are struck off the casual list for face to face and moved to an area where they do the least harm, where they will have no actual contact with the general public.
The basis for this is looking after middle management, if the front end knew how the system worked there would be no need for middle management, less people would get frustrated and simply walk away, so the end result would be a functional system that the govt simply couldn't afford to run. All those middle mangement people would end up the other side of the counter, how would that look on the stats?

There's also something in their paraphernalia about being away from your home for more than 12 months... negative of course... but I forget what he details are.

How do they know if you are at home or on the road?

How do they know if you are away for greater than 12 months?

Dunno.

I was working in the good ol USA and had to get an extension to my visa (needed another 4 weeks), went to the local (Houston) dept at 7am to stand in a queue for 6 hours just to get a ticket for the next queue.

Went back to work and was advised to call the coy's lawyers who probably could sort it out.

They did, 4 weeks after I arrived home they sent me a letter advising my application for extension was refused and I was ordered to depart the USA forthwith.

Sorry guys, no matter how bad you think things are here there are alway worse places.

One ting I never thought of was the Electoral Roll .
After a few "Please Explains" from them I finally got myself listed as an Itinerant Traveler, No longer have to vote in local elections and have disappeared from the rolls.
