Had a long day Dot? Stay warm mate xxxx
Fresh out of the kiln this morning.
Same vase, different angles. It's only about 6 inches tall and is as big as my kiln will make. I really would like it to be taller, but until the kiln man pulls his finger out, I don't have a bigger kiln yet. I am being very patient with him as he is having issues with covid and a very sick son (not covid but the big c). If the bigger kiln gets made, I will have more tries to make another one taller.
After taking this one out of the kiln, I loaded it up for firing tomorrow and cleaned up the workbench.

That is so pretty Deborah keep at it. Are you able to do stuff in 2 goes and join them after they have been fired? Had afternoon muffins this arvo with Mr and Mrs K at the Strath CP so we got to see their new van and a catch up on the latest news. Mrs Brown's boys are on so I am saying goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Oh Dot, I aint that clever. The vase started out as lots of scrap glass, fired into an oval lump. Then it was fired again over a hole shape to drop to the bottom of the kiln. That's how I get the dropped shape from what looks like a lot of different bits. I will give the technique another go soon. Enjoy Mrs Brown mate xxxx
Wayne, yes caravan is still under wraps. Don't know when we will have the courage to take it out into the world again. I wish it was the harbour, then we would be rich. Just good ole Lake Macquarie.
I fired up a load today with a red lacy plate for it's first fire, so far so good.
It's cold enough to head off to bed,
so nighty night one and all xxx

Long day today, off to the city, shopping in Mt barker, op shop visit (I picked up a near new Sheridan valance for $10 ) happy with that. paid Bunntings a visit, dropped in to the Kia dealership to see if new cars were in, they only had 2 cars and one was sold.. Expecting a call from the Toyota dealership on Wednesday. looks like the Toyota will be the choice. Tonight I had grilled tomato runny egg and some baked beans, Watch out George

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, my only advice..toyotas are tough mate. So good to read that you now trying "new" foods. Hope you are enjoying the experience. xxxx
Had a bit of a non event day today. The flat glass was meant to have a lacy edge, but it isn't very lacy, fired too hot. So instead of turning into a vase/bowl shape, it went back for another hot session with a heap of tiny glass bits added. Tomorrow, will see if it's better.
