Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!
I did mean the man's name, but i was doing a bit of research last night and it now seems that the history is in the process of being rewritten. The fellow that i was referring to was Billy Williams, a sailor, who was killed in New Guinea. According to the AWM he was the first to die in an Aust uniform but they now recognise that there were aussies enlisted in the British army killed earlier.
So someone else should ask another question.
Cheers

David and Terrie 2006 Winnebago Alpine Not all who wander are lost.
I was born in Australia, the son of a Convict Superintendant and Agricultural Instructor to convicts in 1797.
At the age of 17, accompanied by my brother, I discovered and opened up the Berrima district.
In 1818 I was part of the exploration party which discovered the Goulburn Plains and Lake Bathurst.
In 1824, at age 27, my most important journey of discovery took place, in company with another now well-known explorer.
It resulted in a major expansion opportunity for the Colony of NSW.
A highway in the area and a major road in a town it runs through now bear our names. Who am I?
Regards & God bless,

Hmmm, well I'm not too hot at this stuff, but another one around that era I remember from long ago...
How many years did it take to build the first road across the Blue Mountains?
