A friend here also developed shingles near her eye whilst travelling to Broome. Luckily is was quickly diagnosed at Broome hospital and she recovered without any long term damage.

Not good news Bernie, you need to stay home rest, take it easy, I was told to stay away from others when I had shingles, lucky I caught it early & was treated with the tablets, I never had chickenpox that I know of as a child, there are several creams available to ease the itch.
