On the basis of the current "war crimes" against the civilian population there have been well-recorded incidents of the military themselves ordering the killing.
The largest examples of these orders are Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The firebombing of Dresden when the theory of concentrated bombing in towards a center resulted in the annihilation of 90% of Dresden and the civilian population.
As well as several years of both sides bombing each other's towns and cities.

Just a couple of precedents

Then we get the politically appointed military saying "only kill the ones that are firing at you, Not-Anyothers!

It's warfare and in any war the civilians are always going to get killed, ( it's known as collateral damage ) if they're so concerned with that fact they should never have sent any troops there !
And to add further to the general disgust, the majority of civilians over there in a Moslem country would carry out the Commands as in the Koran and kill the Kaffir ( infidel ) if they ever got the chance to give their whole family a free ticket to Allah.


And to try to use the civilian courts to prosecute a military operation disgust me to the max!
Bet them who ordered the use of our troops never get prosecuted, they're too busy hiding behind the grunts.

Jon, the world is a very different place to decades ago when alliances meant a lot and equipment an troops could be moved round the planet reasonably safely. It's a very different situation today, if there was a conflict between the big powers, we would be left to our own devises as troops and equipment from allies would need to be brought here and with the current technology and surveillance systems of countries, that would be a very difficult thing to achieve. So we need a defence system which will really deter anyone from trying to take us or our neighbours over, which is on the cards as we have many advantages and resources major powers need, plus a puny undermanned, under powered defence force and totally defenceless coast line. When you add we would run out of fuel supplies extremely quickly, as a marvellous governments got rid of the reserves we used to have and sold of all our oil reserves, now we have just a few week supply and it all comes from the middle east.

There are two real hemispheres, nth and sth, what others claim as hemispheres are not. No threats will come from anywhere to the east or west of us, so we have to concentrate on our immediate area and neighbours, as well as where the real threat will come from, china.

....all these accusations are being put forward by those who wouldn't have a clue as to what active service is really like, never served their country and to cowardly to do anything but collect their pay packets and moan.

Actually, all the reports of war crime level behaviour have come from serving and ex-serving defence force members members.

After journalists started investigating and you really need to have been in that sort of situation to understand the pressures, fear and at times helplessness you can feel. I'm not supporting the barbarities that may have occurred, but it's those who sent our people over there that should be held accountable, not those who were faced with death almost every second of their sorties. In my eyes, how they feel and sometimes act can't be explained to those who have no experience of behind the lines warfare and people do lose it at times, even for just a second. It makes it even more stressful when you have no idea who or where the enemy are, as they all look and dress the same.

Back to the original topic, well sort of anyway. Seems a federal court judge has just thrown out the Trump campaign lawsuit regarding the Pennsylvania result where they wanted to call millions of votes invalid. The judge wrote, It is not in the power of this court to violate the Constitution"
CNN reports that Biden has a margin of more than 81,000 votes and it is expected that it will be certified on Monday that Biden has won that state ...... I wonder what his next move will be, doesn't there need to be a finding by a judge that can be brought into question in the next level of the legal system? If the case didn't reach court, then there is no judges deliberations to be questioned in a higher court, so stacking the high court in his favour will have no bearing on the election out come .....
Donald will not be a happy chappy, no doubt he will blame his legal team for failing him, refuse to pay them and probably not give Giuliani the pardon he needs to cover him for filing worthless lawsuits clogging up the legal system and costing the system big $$ .....
They said it would be interesting times when Donald got in ... it will be very interesting to see how things go getting him out again ......

After his comments to the Summit shown on ABC news this morning, it would be better if he stuck to the golf course and stayed away from anything that could be associated with American politics. The rest of those at the world leaders there must have been laughing off camera, Donald on one of his usual rants about what America was going to be doing when he only has about a mth before they send him back to his apartment in Trump Tower.
Talk about living in a fools paradise, he is so far in denial he is talking complete rubbish to the other world leaders expecting them to accept what he says as being carved in stone, not the ravings of someone who has lost the plot completely.

On another note, it will be interesting to see how fast Donald junior recovers from Covid 19, no doubt he will have the same miracle recovery his father had, same good genes and everything ..... Watching Giuliani at one of the press conferences, he was sweating like he was being roasted alive and drinking multiple bottles of water, one after the other ..... might be another case about to be announced ....
