Australian Trivia Only

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Ummmm
Can't think of one so I'll have to defer to a higher knowledge. :geek:

Ok,
Here’s a little scandal involving one of our PMs.
I want you to give me his name.
He had a reputation as a stylish young man-about-town.
He courted an attractive young lady, only to have her swept off her feet by his father!
So instead of becoming his fiancée, she became his step-mother. 😳
Hurt & disappointed he began courting another young lady, but decided he could not support a wife on his low salary.
She married another man, but kept in touch.
So much ‘in touch’ that he fathered two — possibly all three — of her sons!
After her marriage broke down (how surprising!), they married and the sons took his name.
No mention of this history surfaced during his nomination as a candidate, or in fact throughout his career.
However, marriage did not stop his roving eye (or hands) and he was caught out at the end of his political life, with his long-term mistress.
Who was he?

Would it be Harold Holt? I recall that he was touted as being a ladies man.

 DAMN!!
I thought this one might have been a little tougher!!
David, you’re spot-on.
When he disappeared from Cheviot Beach, he was having a little beach party with his mistress, Marjorie Gillespie (about 20 years his junior) and a few friends, mostly nubile young women.
For the sake of appearance, they each had a young man in tow, but most of the lads knew very little about their supposed ‘girlfriends’ when grilled by the press.
:? Draw your own conclusions from that...

And only in Australia would a PM who drowned be memorialised with a swimming pool...

David, you’ve done it again!
Your turn.

If none of this was made public where did all this detail come from?
