Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Mrs Brown and now Billy Connolly. I can't figure out if my belly is sore from the week of crap
or the crazy comics. Off to the GP tomorrow so she can catch up on the past week I have had.
Got an email from a lady we met many years ago on our first time in the motorhome, have kept in touch over the years, her husb was Italian and they had restaurants in Sydney, his accent was so strong I had trouble understanding him so I used to tell him to speak bloody english and called him "my wog friend" He was a chef and cooked their little dogs food every day. She was diagnosed with MS 5 yrs ago and wog boy was her carer, Then I got email from her to say he had passed away and she had to go into care
Tonight she wrote the MS was playing up so who knows how long she may have. Life is so cruel. So Take care everyone, keep smiling and goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, your mate with MS has my sympathy. It is such a crappy disease and nobody deserves to have to go through all that . Hope your gp gives you a gold star xxxx
Had a long drive home today (2 hours with a couple of stops) followed by several hours of unpacking the van and putting it back down the yard (neatly of course), then his nibs fell asleep in his chair. Once he woke, we had a heavy dinner of toast with jam on it. Obviously the catering around here is top class (not).
I am bushed, so it's goodnight from me xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Nice drop of rain today. Saw GP for post hosp check up, back on the BP meds for a while and got the flu shot and booked in for the "jab" in 2 weeks. I asked her her thoughts on the jab, she has had hers and as has been stated many times you have more chance of being hit by a train or winning the biggest lottery than getting a clot. I agree 100%. I see on the news that the powers that be are going to open up the footy as if nothing is happening???? bloody sport wins every time, if I was getting married or a funeral I would say stuff it and if people wanted to come they could but I would also ask them to wear the masks etc. Hope your grandson is better Shirley.. Back to the kiln Deborah Xmas is not far away
Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Glad the gp gave you the bill of better health, Dot. As I have so many weird diseases, I think it will be best to wait for the pfeizer jab. I may have to wait a long while, but I will still be breathing for that little bit longer. xxxx
Slave driver, you. Yes I did fire up the kiln last night and again tonight. The plate that went in last night is pretty good and the one for tonight looks spectacular. I always have a soft spot for the red ones and this is red with lacy edges. It will need to be shaped over a mold tomorrow, some time soon you may get to see some pics. Sadly, I keep forgetting to take them.
Apart from some shed time, not a lot else happened here. We are still getting over the last stressy weekend. Seems the older we get, the slower we are to recover from these events.
night all xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Glad you are back in the work mode Deborah
remember pics of the latest artworks.
I did absolutely NOTHING today apart from a couple of visits elsewhere
The builders that are doing the house next door are leaving their rubbish on the ground and it is blowing over here so tomorrow I am going to pick it all up and chuck it in the hired loo or in the trenches before the concrete is poured. No need for them to do that. Have to go to the block in the next few days to pick the bus up before the Gman has his hernia op. Off to bed nowso Goodnight everyone x
Goodnight Jd & Onyx x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
You sound busy enough Dot. No need to overdo anything and yep, don't let thise dirty builders cause you any stress. You tell em girl.
xxxx
Today, I put the frilly plate from yesterday, in to fire over a mold. As I was fiddling at my bench, I heard a weird noise. When I looked in the kiln, I could see the plate had managed to split onto two bits and fall down either side of the mold. If left to melt there, it would have made an ungodly mess of the kiln. So lucky I was still hanging around to hear it crash to the kiln floor. The piece is now back in the kiln on a flat shelf with some additional bits to help it to join back up. Always something different happening around here.
I am looking for a warm bed now, so night all xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
"tanks" here---Dot,
CAUTION THERE MATE---
Just be aware that you may return from the block to find a heap of set concrete in front of your gate as a payback for dumping their waste and rejects in the trenches and their dunny box.
Perhaps a lashing with your sharp tongue will have a better reaction.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, I reckon Keith is on the money there. A lot of tradies are F.I.T.H. and will do something stupid, because they can. I think a better approach would be to contact the builder and give him a spray. He should then put up a little temp barrier to keep their sh#t on their side.
Cheers

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
"tanks" here---
A friend of mine from the Regiment lived in a tin shed on a block at Goats Patch after he retired. He had a chance of getting some unused concrete from a construction site, and had it dumped at his front door. It was a few hours before he could get back to his block by which time the concrete had set into a large lump at his doorway.
The concrete ended up 4 inches above the door which opened outwards. He had to get an angle grinder and cut 4 inches off the bottom of the door before he could open the door to get inside.
When his girlfriend visited him she kept bumping her head on the top of the doorway due to the additional height of the step.
He ended up buying her a welding helmet to save from having to fork out for a frontal labotomy.
Keith.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
6.45am concrete trucks lined up . Bugger me they were on our driveway, they had decided to open our gate and proceed with the concrete pouring
, IF they came and asked it would of been ok but I hate the fact that they just took it upon themselves to enter other peoples property when the boundary is very clear
George went and spoke to the boss man and he assured the truck ruts would be made good. . No manners these days Grrrrrrr. Been a big morning so I am thinking of a little shut eye
