Here or There?

Post by Greynomad »

Not sure if this post belongs in "Cooking" or "Around the Home", but here goes anyway.

Just bought a Thermomix TM6 -- the latest model (S/hand).

It's amazing!

SWMBO bought it for me as a Mothers Day gift. She wants to give herself an occasional holiday from cooking, :P and my cooking skills have gone down the gurgler since I developed Chemo-Brain. Can't remember sequences & cooking times anymore.

Son-&-Heir raves about his TM5. Even takes it camping (with inverter to run it from car battery)!

Already had three successful (guided) meals, following screen instructions...

Chicken teriyaki (a la Thermomix) for dinner tonight... yum! All my own work... well, with a little guidance from SWMBO. :D

Just followed the instructions on the screen. It even set the time & temperature for me. All I had to do was add ingredients progressively as it asked for them, and tap ‘next’ or switch it on. Easy peasy.

I see it now, Taggerty 2022 there will be these things on tables all around the campfire and a camp oven with damper in it to cover the "campfire cooking" part of the requirement. Might be a good market for portable lithium battery packs and small inverters ......

It won't work Terry, you would need to recharge the batteries half way through the cook, and there's not enough sunlight there for the solar. This year was the exception. :D  :D

I cooked a fruit loaf in a bread maker as part of a lithium demo some yrs back and recharged in under 15 mins by transferring energy from 5 cell battery to the 4 cell demo battery. The 5 cell battery was charged via solar during the morning before the demo and that was more the typical Mannum over cast and threatening rain type weather.

It would add another market opportunity, on the go battery recharging
