Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

"tanks" here---
Something to finish the day---Keep smiling:-

A pensioner drove his brand new M.G. to 100 kph, looking in his rear view mirror, he saw a police car behind him.
He floored the M.G. to 140 , then 150, ... then 155, ... Suddenly he thought,
"I'm too old for this nonsense !"
So he pulled over to the side of the road and waited for the police car to catch up with him.
The officer walked up to him, looked at his watch and said,
"Sir, my shift ends in ten minutes. Today is Friday and I'm taking off for the weekend with my family.
If you can give me a good reason that I've never heard before, why you were speeding... I'll let you go."

The Man looked very seriously at the police man, and replied :-
"Years ago, my wife ran off with a policeman, I thought you were bringing her back." !!!

The Cop left saying,

" Have a good day, Sir ".
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Dot, you are using a microscopic RV washing machine I hope. I don't do washing, so wouldn't know how many loads we really do, but only ever one load per day and maybe that happens on four days a week. Keep those hands looking soft and good xxxx

Thanks Keith and Robert, your ideas are great. I do make a wicked loaf of bread when I am in the mood, just don't have enough hours in any one day.

My week in pictures. This is the offending vase, all chopped up and ready for putting in the kiln.
IMG_2331.JPG
Now in the kiln ready for the first warm up.
IMG_2332.JPG
THis is today. When it came out of the kiln it had a bit of a dropped off piece hanging over the front edge, so I know that it was molten for a good time
IMG_2335.JPG
After a while I could feel the crack developing under my fingers
IMG_2338.JPG
As beautiful as it is, it's now in the bin. Unless I found the right temp to anneal the glass, it will always be considered unstable and could crack up any time. So off to do some more important stuff.

Some suncatchers are in there tonight.
I did make up a batch of pumpkin scones and delivered them around the neighbourhood. We have a delivery system of putting the goods on a chair near the door and sending the recipient a text with a photo of the goods. It's working out easier than we expected and we get to give care packages within the rules.
Night all xxx

That was a pretty glass Deborah, keep practicing :D :D 4 loads of washing is not a lot when you have the bus stuff and the house stuff then clothes. I out did myself this arvo , I made a lemon slice for tomorrows visitors, then I got all the vegies cut up ready for a roast lamb tea , Haven't had so many people to cook a meal for in years (thank god cuz I hate cooking mainly because it never tastes like other peoples) Have been watching the 9/11 (minute by minute) boy there was a lot of bad decisions and communications was terrible but I guess you never would expect anything like that day but thankfully the world has learnt from that day. Did some weed spraying while the sun was out. HTFFBO is still stuck in C Pedy waiting and waiting for the cable thing so they can get moving again, she says there is one mechanic in the town ?? that doesn't sound right. Had a good laugh today after I spoke to my NZ M8, finally things are looking better re her bro and his court appeals etc, She had him served with a thing that tells him he has 14 days to get all of his stuff off her land, what was funny was the guy serving the notice had a camera and filmed the encounter :D The look on the bros face was a sight to behold   He told the man he didn't want to take the notice but the server just said "thats fine mate I will just put it here for you" and he left.. Should be interesting to see who gets the job to remove the stuff as he has a trespass notice on him and the Corrections are aware of that so if he breaches those orders his ankle monitor will set the alarm off woo hoo. Time for bed now so Stay safe. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Riverlander x :D

Dot, I looked in the bin at the pretty glass, today and thought "leave it there where it can do no harm", so I left it there. Your kiwi mate is finally getting to be in charge of her own life again, sounds like she deserves to be free of that brother. You really have been cooking up a storm, Onya mate xxxx

Finally I have something to show for today. Not a good pic, but you can figure out the red n clear sparkle of the suncatcher. Happy to have something to put up in memory of my mate who left this earth a few weeks ago.
IMG_2344.JPG
Then onto an experimental piece that is getting warmed up tonight. As part of it, I needed lots of tiny bits of orange glass to gently toss onto the kiln shelf as an extra bit of colour to the project. This is the device that I use to chop the tiny bits of glass, sitting in my home made icecream container frit collector. Saves me picking up a gazillion tiny pieces.

Apart from that excitement, nothing else happening here

That sun catcher looks really nice Deborah Your friend will love it. My niece her husband and their 2 girls arrived this arvo on their way back to Vic, they have been travelling for 3 months and don't want to go back home  I really outdid myself and did do the roast lamb for 7 of us with some to spare. My friend Flo and her dog Rosy also arrived for a few days rest. Ann and Wazza are very strict with their girls and don't have to be told twice to do something so they are welcome here any time, I hate spoiled spogs. So now the dishwasher is stacked and and doing the hundreds of cups plates cutlery etc and I am now off to bed. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Wayne and Nini x

Dot, I reckon my mate will be looking down at her memorial suncatcher with approval. It certainly reminds me of many things she said and did to make sure she had some red things around her always. Sounds like you have cooked up a storm and survived the fun xxxx

We had a weird day, just being good listeners to our daughter. She has had a child in the class that she teaches, test positive to covid. It is very interesting to hear how many people in the dept of ed are actually available to help on a Sunday. Her principal has gone AWOL,(or just under the radar somewhere), so as Deputy Principal she has had to organise the full closure of the school and deep cleaning and notifying tons of people about the closure. So far she is testing negative, but has arranged the house so that she is as isolated as possible, which would be impossible with a 7 year old. We have our fingers crossed for her and the family.
Our other covid news, is that there have now been several cases in our small town, so we are really staying home. Shirley, don't leave your area and stay away from the shops. They are not safe at the moment. The dept of health is notifying the general public up to 2 weeks after the event, so how do you stay away from those places during the 2 weeks that they take to make the notification? No wonder people are wandering around and not knowing that they have the disease, until symptoms start. Our town's f**kbook page has kept us more up to date thankfully.

sweet dreams out there xxx
