Deja vu!
I have also visited small county town museums only to find tools in glass cases identical to some still in use in my toolbox! (Most of them inherited from my father — a couple that I bought new!

)
Some have been mis-identified, a situation I drew to their attention.

On two occasions I have found items placarded “Can you tell us what this is?”… I did.
One was a 1920s vintage weight reduction ‘rolling pin’ type device which was like one my grandma used (didn’t work

).
The other was a kitchen utensil for lifting a roasting pan out of the oven. My mum had one. I was able to explain to the museum person how it was used.

In Tasmania, the museum at Beaconsfield mine has a model of a blast furnace… with some parts mis-labelled. I identified myself to the manager, explaining that I had, among other things, once been PR for BHP’s Steel Division, and pointed out the errors. She promised to make the corrections.
Have not yet been back to check.

Maybe you should order two T-shirts…
