Re: Stone Gard Question
Bob is it a mesh one?
Might need a photo!
Is it just for the bottom part to protect from stones from your rear vehicle wheels?
Probably put it where it suits you best. Access to front door? Access to gas bottles? etc

Hi Admin, Yes a picture is worth ect, Ive just made the frame so far ,will be putting 100 % 2 thickness of shade cloth on soon. It can be set forward or back as that part is still open.

Re: Stone Gard Question
I have one on my offroad trailer and it is foward, I think the idea is to bounce the rocks back down and not up into your rear window or up over the guard and into the van

Re: Stone Gard Question
Can you tell us what you're trying to catch?
I mean if you want to stop mud and road grime you're probably on the right track.
If you just want to stop stone damage you might be better off using light mesh like they make bird cages out of.
A lot of stones will go under that as you have it sitting there. Walk around the caravan park & check out a few that have no protection.
A strong sidewind will put a LOT of pressure on 2 thicknesses of shade cloth. Might need struts from the hitch area to the outer top corners.'Back to the angle......... I doubt it matters other than functional & appearance.
........ ask your navigator to comment!!!
