Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Hey Dot, I can always find a use for bits of brass or copper pipe....just saying   Hope your weeds are excited to see you with your deadly stuff. xxxx

Had another "building in my shed" day. While I built another plate from scraps, I had a dish in the kiln firing away to get to its proper shape. I heard a loud thud and I froze. The kiln had reached 150 degrees and the plate inside has cracked into two pieces and fell down onto the floor of the kiln. I moved it out and put in a different plate to find its shape instead. The broken plate can have another very slow warm up to rejoin it and then the whole process will begin again. The piece that I was making looks interesting, happy with that, but there are still way too many scraps on my bench. Another dastardly plan is evolving to use up some more of said scraps.

Tomorrow will be our second astrazenica jab and we too, will become part of the great statistics haul.

nighty night xxx

Dot, watch out for those mini NZ Christmas trees. If the roots break through the bottom of the pots, the trees will go up, up and away, before you notice the excapee roots. Happy doctoring xxxx

Kiln, today behaved like it should, but I still have asked my sparky to call in this week to double check all wiring and install an industrial plug. The platter that was shoved in late, yesterday has come up beautiful. I had worried about it being put into the kiln that was already a bit warm, but it looks fine. In the pics, the black stripes are really a lovely deep blue and it really looks stunning.

Firing away tonight is another scrap plate and I finished building another one today. There are still some scraps left on my workbench. It feels like I make more scrap than finished product. Anyways after the three scrap projects are done, the rest of the scrap will get a different treatment. I am determined to find the bottom of the scrap pile and make more space on my bench.

Well I passed with flying colours for my MR licence. for another year :D That plate is fantastic Deborah, keep it going. Shirley Good to hear Bruce is keeping up with the G kids but I bet he loves his afternoon naps though . Had a walk around Buntings garden centre the prices of their plants have sky rocketed to much and they seem to be left to their own devices (the plants I mean) . I had a great dinner tonight, an exciting bowl of porridge and for pudding a big bowl of custard. Bet you lot are jealous of that meal.. Time to say goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Chuck x :D

Dot, great that you can keep on driving the beastly bus. Well done xxxx

Glad that you all liked that plate, it sure is one of my latest favourites.

Today the story was not so good. The firing was a disaster. On 2 levels of the kiln, were plates that needed to be stretched out a little, but not too much. I had used some tile off cuts around the edges on each shelf, to keep the liquid glass where it should be. The bottom shelf looked great until I saw the tile on one edge had managed to flop over into the molten glass and it was stuck. That made a great mess, but it can be over come, with a lot of w**k. The top shelf, somehow found a tiny crack in the back of the shelf and dropped great blobs of glass onto the shelf below. I spent a lot of time tidying up those two pieces and now they are back in getting similar treatment. Timely, that last night I watched a video of another glassy, doing similar kiln w**k. He wasn't using tall tiles, like I had, but much smaller tile offcuts on their backs, to create the dams, but nowhere near as tall as mine. With the tiles laying flat, they can't fall or move, so that's what I am trying tonight. After 16 hours, we will know if that is the answer. Wonder why the power bill is getting higher? hmm. Only so much the solar can do and not a lot at night after the battery is spent.

I am stuffed from all that sanding, cutting and thinking,
so night all xxx
Deborah

Did you see the SE freeway (adelaide) the hail was just like snow  Weird weather for sure maybe the weather has covid? ;) Today George called his bank to transfer some $ to NZ, the man that did that job was to call back in 15mins, hr later G rang again, the man was on the ph and once again will call back. Again at 4pm another call and this time G was told he was the next in line. 6pm still no word so I let rip on their fb page and if they ring omg they better have their plugs in. The bank is Beyond bank. End of gripe. Tomorrow the bus goes to have her new alternator inserted. She will be pleased :D Had to smile, the sparky was at the next door place replacing the wiring for the 3rd time, nice invite for the rat bags to strike again. Haven't they heard of putting doors up before the wiring is done?? I bought a tomato plant and shall see if it lives long enough to have fruit. bets are open. Bed time so goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Tanks x :D Goodnight Mr Major x Hope you are getting better and betterer x
