ScoMo’s Net-Zero Plan

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

ScoMo’s Net-Zero Plan

Post by Greynomad »

Now that we have Our Glorious Leader’s non-plan to move away from fossil fuels to electric cars, we finally have the opportunity to look at his overall plan to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 (notwithstanding most climate studies say the tipping point will come in 2030).

Here’s ScoMo’s Big Plan as I see it
2021 to 2049:
Business as usual. Do nothing extra to reduce reliance on fossil fuels. Sell as much coal as we can dig up while there’s a market for it. Don’t encourage electric cars, as they don’t buy stuff from our biggest donors in the oil industry. The states will help by taxing electric cars at point of purchase (with a Luxury Car Tax for family-size cars) and for using the roads.

December 2049:
Magic happens. We become carbon-neutral overnight.
🤔

I'm not sure you fully understand ScoMo's plan to rely on technology to get him over the line. Possibly he's looking at adding rare earth magnets to his shoes and Sharkies hat and building a copper coil around himself so he can generate power while doing back flips on every thing he had said previously ..... then he can use this to offset his methane emissions that escape while he's talking through his ...... I'm sure you know which orifice I'm referring to ;)

Just waiting for the first high court challenge to the states EV road taxes, the federal govt can't be seen to be supporting these states because that would also conflict with his "emissions reduction" plan.

I wonder if an EV owner was to submit a lower odometer reading than the yr before, would they get a credit?

😁
Maybe drive everywhere in reverse… THAT would confuse the ATO! 😜😎

On your other note: wouldn’t the mix of methane and electricity be explosive?
Maybe we should encourage ScoMo in his endeavours. He could be the world’s first PM Astronaut!! (Without help from Elon Musk’s SpacEx!)

The ATO aren't doing the 2.5 cents per km tax on electric vehicles, that is each state generating their own tax revenue ...... the legality of actually doing that is the part in question, what gives them the authority to discriminate against electric vehicles? The states never collect the fuel tax so they can't claim the EV's are robbing them of that tax income ..... so how do the justify the EV tax?

Yeah right!!
10% run scared & then the 90% have to pay?
All designed to create employment in certain sectors with not one bit of benefit to anyone.
One day us laid back Aussies will stand up & be counted like in France?

Is that the fossil fuel sector Bruce? Designed to make a select group wealthy while paying big $$ to the various parties to keep them on side? Coming up with crazy idea like carbon capture that will liquefy the CO2 and pump it into dried oil oil wells and then capping it .... but then the pressure will just create fractures that allow it to escape some where else and be ignored ..... the carbon dioxide pumped into these old oil wells is seen as carbon negative, what escapes is ignored, then this figure used to offset the carbon dioxide produced by burning fossil fuels to create a carbon neutral fossil fuel industry ....... basically, paying yet another company to prove the concept that a turd can be picked up by the clean end .....
If the lay back Aussies really did stand up and say they weren't gunna put up with it anymore and actually revolt against it, the 2005 Cronulla riots would look like a picnic in the park by comparison ....
