Bathurst practice

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

With all the safety cars bringing them all together regardless off their spacing they may have just had a ten lap race. :? A total waste of fuel in my opinion. If you wanted a car to go as fast as possible why would you paint it in matte black?

Well, it would look silly if they were all painted red.
Wouldn't it?

The best for me was the great camera work and the easy to understand explanations of the new stuff from Mark S, how things have changed.Did you enjoy the race Bobr ;) (Sept 2017.) Q/ I want to do one of those V8 ? fast laps before too long Has anyone done this and where do you find out about it?? Don't really want to do it with just any Joe Blob but one of the Holden boys???? 20170601_593.jpgQP9290008.JPGP9290007 (2).JPG
You'll have to make it soon Dottie, they will be Camaro boys soon ...... I reckon Mark Scaife would be the man, so relaxed and happy to chat while he's driving ..... Craig Lowndes would probably the the best all round choice because he has driven both makes to a win ........
I'd love to drive a Super Cart around Bathurst, I doubt there could be a greater adrenaline rush than doing the circuit at insane speeds with your butt mm off the track 8-) The other choice would be one of the formula S5000 cars, although a formula E car would be great as well .... now that would be a series I'd love to watch run around Bathurst and the other "Super Car" tracks

I wonder how the lap times would. An S5000 is about 5 sec/ lap quicker than a supercar. Dont know that they would allow the superkart on the track, but it would be interesting to see how a formula E would go.

The first yr they had the F1 in the streets of Adelaide, they ran an international Grandprix cart event. Every cart in the field was posting a minimum 1 sec a lap faster (in full race mode) than the pole position time of the F1 car on the same circuit. It was only that SBS needed a fill in to their programming that the carts even saw any TV time at all, one of the commentators mentioned the lap times in comparison to the F1 cars ...... rumour has it, that announcer was dragged up on the carpet and no carting events were ever conducted as a support act to the F1 or touring car events, later to become known as super cars.

I was in the midst of joining the NSW Carting association at the time and they showed the cart races that included two super cart events at the meeting .... then dropped the bombshell that the association was told in no uncertain terms that they would never be invited to attend any of the high profile events .... because they didn't show the "proper respect" to the main event cars ...... The question was asked, "What if we promise to drive slower?"
