We just watched the Wangi Wangi fireworks from our deck, started at 9pm & continued for 20 minutes, several other private waterfront properties let a few off, retired to bed don't know if I'll be awake at midnight.

Best Wishes to all members for a healthy, prosperous & very happy new year, travel safely & stay safe, lets hope we see an end to this pandemic in 2022.

Not sure if we watched the Wangi Wangi fireworks or those from Trinity Point (near Toronto), but they were lovely to watch, from a distance, so we didn't get the smoke haze or the noise. The Sidonee ones were lovely to watch, but all that money going up in smoke. Surely in a year when so many businesses have gone to the wall, that money could have done some more good than 15 minutes of bright sparkly lights.

Interestingly, a friend in England, just sent me a text to say that she was watching our fireworks too. It may be good touristy publicity, but tourists wouldn't expect to see that every day and Sidonee can only fit a limited number of tourists at a time.

Today was hot and humid, so just a potter around a do lots of small things. The weeds are growing faster than I can catch then at the moment.

No Nanna nap today as I couldn't wake up very early. Did some more sorting out of stuff in the garage and watered the plants. Watched "the meaning of life " once again Saw the biggest cockroach today, under a box of spare coat hangers so it got captured, taken outside and I did the stomp, Old baits out and new ones in situ. At last there is a cool breeze tonight. Would you believe the TV programs are the same as last year? who would of thought that? Off to bed now so Goodnight everyone x Goodnight Tanks & Mr Major x x

I know you probably know Dot but are you sure it wasn't a water beetle? Look very similar but usually are a bit bigger.
