We buy the DC units from Aldi when they go on run out pricing, clean out all the Aldi stores that still have one left
They work so much better than the ones we replaced, chalk and cheese type comparison.Do you really want an evaporative cooler Dottie? The windowsall need to be open or the moisture build up starts mould growing behind the cupboards and in the clothes in the cupboard. Why not a reverse cycle split unit just for the bedroom .... George could install it easy enough, get one that uses HC gas as the refrigerant and it doesn't need a fridgie to commission it because anyone can buy the gas .....

We have 2 small Hitachi heavy industry split
ACs servicing 2 bedrooms.
Very impressed and super cheap to run. Have to get the 6/7 star models.
