Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Good one Dot. Good night/ morning. Don't bother going to the supermarket. I went to one today, not much fruit and veg. No lamb, not much beef or pork. Only the expensive cuts left. No frozen veg either. But if you could survive on fresh bread or icecream, then all would be well. Until you wanted to wipe your butt. Not sure if they are blaming the lack of AdBlue or the lack of staff. The new normal sure is different. Only good thing was there were only a handful of customers in store.
Good luck with getting your road fixed. The bit near your place is pretty ordinary for a main road. But it still better than the Newell Hwy.
The greatest con since the replacement of R12 refrigerant with A134a, only to find that one was bad as far as greenhouse emissions, yet butane and propane have been around for a long time, have no ozone affect and very little greenhouse gas issues ....... but you can't charge crazy prices for something you can buy for less than a $1 ltr.
Adblue is just urea and blue colouring, p*ss is also urea with a few other by products and rubbish the body doesn't want thrown in. The adblue is just sprayed into the hot exhaust gas, well after leaving the motor and turbo, so what is the problem with that doing the job .....

I only mentioned AdBlue because on our recent trip up the Newell there was a lack of supply. All the servos we stopped at had none. Not an issue for us, but maybe a big issue for late models engines that "require" it.
Poor old Joe Public has been conned about many things over the years, just so some big corporations can make more profit. And the gubmints of the world do diddle squat. Remember Y2K.

We haven't gone camping yet Bruce...that will be Saturday.
Our normal 2 hour drive took 3 hours because of the road being closed.
All the shops we went into in Maryborough didn't have a shortage cept Aldi they were out of dunny paper
We didn't go to Coles so cant comment on them.
I love my Pioneer thingy in the middle of the dash...gave verbal on all the closed roads , and directions around them.
Bernie.

Glad I wasn't a computer techie around that period. They did such a great job there wasn't a problem, yet if they hadn't and all the computer records were suddenly lost because the computer went back to the yr 1900, everything that happened linked to a date later than 1900, wouldn't happen, because the computer would believe it was 1900 and would wait till 99 yrs until till the yr date became relative ...... heads would have rolled in the IT dept
Blue Scope Steels entry LED scrolling banner stopped working because Jan 1 2000 didn't make sense ..... they fixed all the rest but left that one, just so the general manger could say it was a big con job .... plus the thing ran off such an old system and newer computer wouldn't recognise it ..... so the cost for just one computer not being upgraded to Y2K compliant was quite considerable .....

Based on the current Gov't responses to today's issues; You wouldn't want them leading the Y2K projects. They can't do anything correctly and their only option is to throw money at it.
I was having drinks with a programmer post Y2K and she was a programmer of a core WW application for our company back in the 70's
"Of course we knew it wouldn't work in 2000. Jon, the cost of RAM was exorbitant then, and adding 2 more digits to the year would cost a fortune. We just said the application won't be around in 30 years time and moved on." well, hello!!!

Back in the '70's they didn't really think the whole computer thing would still be around in 30 yrs time ....
