Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Funny you mention Nigel, Dot.

He was just telling me the other day how he was at a bank and that the teller wasn't wearing a mask. Can you believe it? Anyway, I asked him why he was in the bank. He just looked at me all stupid like, and sort of said, "that's where all my friends deposit my new found money."

Jon what is/was the problem?
Oil on the clutch or just too much power & burnt out?
Norman's Iveco has a small clutch problem (to my way of thinking). It's almost like it just needs a little adjustment to bring the pedal a little higher when activating the bearing etc. I investigated & on the Iveco there is no adjustment & the master, slave & connecting tube all come as one ready primed with fluid !! Can you believe that? No bleed, no top up, Just hand over your bank acct!!

Bruce, what would happen if you let just a weeny bit of air into that loop? Better or worse?

Not sure Dave but as air compresses it'd probably be a bit spongy underfoot. As you know most vehicles have an adjustable rod out of the slave cylinder but not on these things. I haven't finished delving into it to see if there is any adjustment on the pressure plate that might 'raise' the fingers a bit. Would be an out of vehicle thing if there is/was.
It's not too bad but anyone driving it for the first time would really wonder how far the clutch has to go down before changing gears.
Is yours the same Bernie? About an inch from the floor?

Broken g/b cable meaning I drove home (40 ks or so) in 4th. Did ok until the last round about where I had to stop on a hill. 3 attempts to get moving and the last one was riding the clutch at about 2000 rpm. It gave a screaming tearing sound but I got home.

Have done about 1300 ks since but now, as best as I can describe it, I get some soft bunny hop slip and grabs when normally, the engine would bog down and chug away.

I'm not prepared to risk breaking down somewhere remote so, out it comes. I'm just hoping that I haven't damaged the machined and balanced flywheel.
