After 22 years fighting cancer — and winning — I don’t want some snotty nose who may (or may not) have a genuine reason for not wearing a mask giving me a death sentence.

Son-&-Heir tells me that exemption is very easy to get. Even ‘feeling anxious’ will do!

I certainly feel anxious, as I have lost ⅓ lung capacity due to the cancer. But I wear my mask to protect myself as well as others.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Nobody does Ray. We all have our health issues. Me, her, everyone.

Next time, why not turn around before you get to the counter?

What a difference Covid relaxations have done. Visit to Oncologist usually sign in, sit and wait a few minutes and in we go (with masks on) Today, met at the clinic doors by a lady all geared up incl face shield, asked me for proof I have had all my 3 jabs, What? It might be on the ph but husb has that with him but he will be here soon, sorry but you will have to put this mask on,( nice flash one) fill in these forms and sit in that room, also your husb can not come in with you this time.. OK T arrives and we have no idea how to find the proof page of our 3 jabs and the lady jumped back when I said to G, the lady might know how to find it on the ph. I'm not touching your ph :( anyway it was my turn so I was told to sit down in the usual spot. Dr called me in and of course I said "What is all this extra BS compared to the last visit 3 mths ago? He said because the opening up of places etc and people not wearing masks as much so they are extra cautious of the patients that have some or next to none immunity because of their cancer and treatments. He compared to to Russian roulette. Had a bit of a look and push poke of the armtongue, felt the neck and so I asked him while I was there would he get his special spot investigator and have a look at a spot on my temple, no worries he replied. I told him about my latest choking episodes he suggested I let the throat man know and he may suggest the stretching of the throat stricture, hmm I don't fancy that procedure, can be dangerous to say the least. Happy with todays visit so see me again in 6 months unless needed before then. :D Nice to know that treatment centre is looking out for us.

My eye specialist has a similar proof of the jabs routine ..... all except, no jab, find another specialist please, no exemptions ...... His work place, himself, his staff and other patients health means no crap as far as he is concerned ..... it's not like he is short of customers so he can afford to loose a few crackpots ;)
The staff all still wear all the protective gear, including the face shields if they are not behind the plexiglass screen. I hope more people take up the same options where close contact can't be avoided.

We went to the Mater hospital oncology section last week same routine, log in, proof of Covid shots, then had to have RAT test & sit for 10 mins., before entry, I was told that I wasn't allowed in at all but when Bruce was called to see the oncologist, Bruce told him that he wanted me there to hear what he had to say about new treatment, the oncologist called one of the administration staff & told her to go & find me, fortunately I was sitting just outside main hospital door, I then had my RAT test before proceeding to oncology dept., I have an authorisation letter already for an app., Monday week to go in with Bruce.

Shirley, I am thankful that these institutions are doing these "harder" lines of action as they know how susceptible to any bugs we are. Glad you are able to go in with Bruce as 4 ears are better than 2 when something new is being discussed.

Agree 100% Dot, most people on cancer treatment have a low immune system & every precaution needs to be taken.
Bruce is very forgetful in one ear & out the other, he has trouble remembering everything, really need to be at appointments.

A number of studies done by medical scientists have discovered cannabis prevents covid from attaching to lung tissue, making it suitable for prevention. When you add it's pain relief and healing effect, its makes one wonder why it's so heavily denounced and banned. Of course it's not the happy ingredient THC that works, it's CBD which seems to have the most healing benefits. But adding the happy bit, would make for a more pleasant experience.
