Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Enjoy the escape to the country Dot xxxx
Did much more of the same today. Unpacked a couple of parcels of glass (felt like Christmas) and found a few more spaces for the rest of the glass, which has yet to be delivered. The flat plate is now getting a bending into a nice shaped plate. Not a word.
Rest of the day was the usual, gardening, cooking, answering weird phone calls, nothing more to tell you

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Nice day, george sprayed the weeds and also had to dig out some huge caltrop (nasty weed) and had to use the blower to blow out so much dirt and leaves then knock down cobwebs and spray for the red backs here and there. Next visit will be to gather the dead weeds and also a smallish ash tree to be cut down. After that we dropped off some gear for a friend of ours at Birdwood he is looking after his wife with dementia and is finding it is getting harder and harder what a bloody cruel disease, it is so heart breaking. Then we hit one of our favorite junk shops, found some more shoe things for Ray but refrained from purchasing any more for him as Joy would kill us
Also found another item for some other collector and he was pleased
Then off to the next op shop on the way home, scored a nice blouse $3. Next town another op shop, I scored a beautiful fluffy single bed blanket for Brian $2. Lucky last op shop was a nice bowl for the bird stand 50 cents and 5 DVD;s for $1. Not a bad day but the est was excitement of seeing 2 police cars doing a drug and booze session, the buggers waved me through so who told them I was coming and not to bother as I don't have a tongue to scrape and I can't get a good seal around their tube
?? TERRY??? I was going to turn around and see if I could get lucky this time but the boss said nooooo. They had gone when we came back
Going to Mt Barker tomorrow and will be calling into IGA to tell them the leg of lamb I got was very tough, sick of getting crap meat esp so bugger them I let them know and expect a replacement. Off to bed now so goodnight everyone x
Goodnight Supersparky x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Gee, Dot, the price that you would have paid for a leg of lamb is definitely worth complaining if it was tough. Hope you get a replacement for it. It's a shame that this weekend is going to be too hot for a roast. Ok you can feed it to the freezer. Wish I could get out an do some op shopping with you. Will do some soon, I have been promised.
xxxx
This is what greeted me at the kiln this morning. As the split is on a different fault line, I have given up. I love the colours and brightness of it, but it has been fired too many times and is now unstable. I may try to achieve something similar another time, but will use some different bits of glass to do it.
It has been stinking hot today, so took out the kiln shelves, went outside and sanded the old stuff off them and repainted with kiln wash. I did them last week, but the wash hadn't dried properly and it was not looking smooth enough. It doesn't hurt to be careful.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Do you think it got hot too quick or maybe cooled down too quick? Opened the kiln & a burst of fresh cool air maybe?
As kids we used to have fun melting glass in the camp fire we learnt the hard way!
A lot of us "oldies" had the job of "topping" beer botlles (long necks) to make jars for the preservatives to live in. (jams?)

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
"tanks" here---
I went back to bed this morning and I missed the wheelie bin truck pickup today, so there goes my excitement for the day.
Well---I did find Susan Boyle on YOUTUBE singing Mull of Kintyre recorded at Windsor with the Queen's horses being paraded.
That made my day, plus a selection of Pipes and Drums from massed marching bands. GO THE SCOTS.
Keith.

I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Asleep in the chair again Dot? That sort of nap can be so good. How did the lamb complaint to shop go? xxxx
Bruce, love your thinking, but I have a bit of practice with this stuff now. The rule is, the kiln is not opened until it is at room temp. No, it's just a bad mix of glass that had too many times in the kiln. It happens sometimes, and the more it has been fired, the less well it will behave.
Had to go to a progress meeting today. We have found a couple of new members who are all ready to join the fight for cleaner air and they are both well read on the issues. So it's becoming a bit more interesting now.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Saw the GP today, gave me a form to fill out "Mental Health" apparently I scored nicely (help needed score)
She said Medicare pay for most of the bill and because of covid you can get extra sessions, I see the Cancer clinic Psychologist so this ref will do nicely. George went into the IGA to complain about the lamb, he was spoken to by some twerp that said "There has been no other complaints" and we can not do anything without seeing the meat
Tomorrow on our way through I shall take it to them, To me it was more like 2 tooth or mutton but def not lamb. George is too soft when it comes to these things. When Foodland charged me twice for the cheese, the lady said "Sorry about that it happens sometimes and it happened to me last week, just come in and tell the girl on the service desk you spoke to Maria and she will fix it up, just bring your receipt". Did that and not one bit of bother. I will do the lamb thing tomorrow, I'm not paying those prices for something you can't eat. On the phone again tonight to my NZ M8, Court again today and really not much change, now the bro wants more $$$ and even though she can now sell her property as the subdivision is in her name if Bro hears about the sale he can still put an injunction on her selling it??? The law is pathetic, they support the crim and bugger the victim. He has been ordered to pay costs but hasn't and won't, has had 9 lawyers on legal aid and still he can stop her from selling. Her bro is being supported by a well known big well known nasty POS (bikie connections) The coppers know him very well and Sue has to be very careful. Anyway another high court hearing will be coming up about bros appeal (this will be his 4th) He has lost them all but the law allows more as he comes up with slightly different stories. Time for bed so Goodnight everyone x Goodnight Tanks x
Goodnight Mr Major x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Off to Mt Barker with roast lamb in cooler as the snotty little shite asked for, G saw the manager explained the situation etc and the guy said "No problems just take the receipt to Mary over there for a refund" G asked where he should put the returned meat and the guy just smiled and said "In the bin" so he did. Happy with that
Went to Kmart to get a new mattress and pillow protectors and NOT one of either was to be found. So down the freeway to Big W and got both at 46% foo and a $6 shirt for Gman,
Off to the Cancer clinic lady shrink type person, before I could get in I had to do a RAT test, gave me a hairy stick thing and told me to shove it down my throat then up each nostril
Q/ ''Do you mean down the throat then up each nostril with the same stick?" A/ "Yes." then she did the rest of the test and it was Neg so then I had to stand in front of a temp taker on the wall = 36.2. Then I was allowed inside. Homeward bound and did 2 loads of washing then have stayed seated since but I want a shower so Goodnight everyone x
Goodnight Mr Bandit x, Mr Major x and Mr Phoenix x
