Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

I can't remember a weather event as bad or as continuous as this one, in the past 50 years. But it isnt climate change, that's not real, apparently.

YUP! Definitely doesn't exist.
Just ask (ex)President Clown or any member of the Australian Liberal Party Right Wing or the National Party. Sheer co-incidence.

I don't see why either of the extremely well paid cricket players should get a state funeral which is paid for by tax payers. There are plenty of other people who have died and have done much more for society in general.

George I agree but what I don't like is the fact they were making out SW deserved one more so than RM. I was feeling for the RM family. The tax payer pays for everything and most of it is the pollies perks.

Agree most wholeheartedly!!

Heard of 'Professor Don Metcalf'? No?

Google him. The Walter & Eliza Hall Institute site has the best summary of his life's work.

I owe the late Professor A LOT. eg. My life.

...but no-one remembers his funeral. It wasn't a State Funeral. Should have been...

Dot, you are small enough now, so no need for a shrinking lady  Enjoy your visit anyway. xxxx

George, and all who have agreed, you are so right. All these rich people do not need or deserve to have our taxes paying for their final hooroos. Would any of us expect the state to pay for our funerals? Might feel differently if they paid for it before they died. A sportsperson, who was doing the thing he/she loved doing and was rewarded highly for having those skills has not done anything great for our country. They have been doing this for their pleasure. Lucky ducks. No state funerals for them in my book.

We woke to a much drier world. The clouds were still there, but not leaking. We had a speedy breakfast and hit the road. We met with a few showers, but nothing too serious, until Singleton (Hunter Valley), The main, "floodproof" bridge, over the Hunter River, was under water. Only big trucks could get through on the bridge. We were sent on a very long bypass. It added about an hour to our trip, but it was safe and we still got to where we needed to be. I believe the bridge has since been closed to all traffic.

We arrived in Glen Innes in time for afternoon coffee. Glad that we could do the travel in one day, but would have preferred to do it in two days, like we usually do.

nighty night xxx

1. It's not a state funeral.
2. His funeral is private with his family next week
3. It's a State Memorial Service at the MCG. Goodness know how many people will attend. The MCG holds 100,000. His body won't be there.

I attended Michael Gudinski's state memorial. It's was cross between a celebration of his life achievements and a wake amongst friends. A chance for those with an emotional attachment to share the moment and reflect how he shaped the time we were growing up in.

I'm sure this will be the similar.

I'm not sure if I'm angry or disappointed or something else with the comments being posted.
