We have had a Garmin Nuvi 465 With the truck profile in the bus for a while now but they don't do updates on this model any more so what are you lot using? Looked at the Navman but pref the Garmin. The price putting me off though, I want a unit that also has the speed because the bus's speedo is a few ks out.
This one seems to have it all ???

Dot, we have a couple of Garmin nuvi GPS. The appear very similar to the one you listed. I like them and find them easy to use and update. It really gets down to personal preference. If I was looking to upgrade, I would get a Garmin.

I have a garmin Nuvi, not sure what model but map updates not available. I still find it gets me where i want to go if I don't know how to myself or I wish to drive into a new estate. I find it simple to use and would buy another garmin if needed.

We have a basic Tom Tom and a road map. The Tom Tom is great for finding our way in new areas and speed warnings and the map is good for swatting flies

So the Garmin has the votes, those ot you that have the bigger units does your Gps have the truck route thingy? I really would like it because the old one led us into a sticky situation with a new road (not for heavy vehicles, 5 ton limit)

I had a Garmin, For the main it was accurate and easy to read,
It did lead us on a few wild routs, once in Brisbane, and again in Melbourne with totally illogical diversions and scenic trips.
In the Ranger, which had a different head unit, I loaded Sygic maps, much more accurate and I was able to specify routes and vehicle sizes.
Now in the car, I use Sygic on my android phone or Samsung tablet and I put the Garmin ( updated) into Phyll's little Mazda.

I don't trust any of them! I have inbuilt navigation in the Suzuki & also have the Samsung maps on as well. Honestly if both had two arms & hands with boxing gloves on 'em I'd pull up & wait for the fight to be over.
One road in particular I've advised them several times & they just reply "thankyou".

Bruce,
Our Suzuki also has an inbuilt GPS, but in newer areas of housing I sometimes plug in my phone and use Google Maps, as it’s more up-to-date.
Must request a map update at Supercar’s approaching service.
Regards & God bless,
Ray
