Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

With insurance, try getting a formal evaluation and then present that.
Trouble is getting a decent valuation.

But the bloody 3 way fridge has decided not to play on gas, so it is running off the lithiums till we go to bed then all day tomorrow while we are at the croquet club. Hopefully we can get it looked at on Monday. Fortunately it is sunny during the day.

Lesley, it is probably only a blocked jet. If you can't get it seen to, then let us know. One of us here can then let you know how to deal with it.
In the mean time, enjoy the croquet. :D

Stay warm and safe Dot xxxx

Insurance is certainly scary. I have found by internet searching that I could get quotes for the valuation that I think is reasonable with several companies. Now I have to read all the fine print to make an edumicated decision. Also Apia uses CIL, so I will try them on Monday. They don't do internet quotes and you have to talk to them. I just think it would be interesting to see what they offer for basically the same cover that CIL offer.

Today was very cold n windy, so we had a lot of entertainment laid on. Our next door airBnB, has a large group of young people staying for the weekend. We have seen this well behaved mob before. This week, they have brought with them several canoes and a couple of trimarans. The thing with three hulls, is that they are very difficult to right, once they blow over. They had several very close calls and the entertainment was great value for us.

night all xxx

Spent most of the day watching the King and the late Queen's stuff, the history of things and the explanations given has been very interesting, had a giggle at Kings walk about when he and Camilla got back to London, Camilla out the car and off she went, King letting some woman give him a kiss, then they walked side by side but I guess it will take some time to get into their new rolls but so good to see. Feel so sad for them as his mum just died and he has to smile etc but after today it will revert back to the sad time where they all can be normal in their grief. Watched the security guards on the walk about looking into and beyond the crowd, even pushing cameras out of the way. Cleaned out the dird cage today, no more eggs :D and G is making a new shade cover for summer for them. More rain tonight. Watching the BOB's those hills are horrid, but they seem to just fly up them, only 35ks to go, don't think I would even like to drive around those roads with the drops either side, even the motorbikes struggle now and again. Lesley no favoritism tomorrow. Deborah we are escaping for a few days early next month :) Safe travels everyone, get well all the maimed and sickies. Goodnight, everyone x :D Goodnight Jd x :D

Bugger. Lost my reply.

We have been given the name of a company here in Bundy who have a good reputation. Will ring them in the morning to see what is what. The fridge knows there is gas but it just won’t light. We turned the fridge off overnight as it was a cool evening. Batteries were at 75% when we switched the fridge to 240v before we left at 7am. On our return at 4pm, the batteries were at 74% so we were happy with that.

We have friends here in Bundy who have offered their driveway and power if we need it tomorrow.
Cheers

Thanks Jon, it's a slow recovery and hopefully recovery is the right word.
Doc today told us that we will know more after the cat scan next week. Translates to mean : he knows nothing either. Fingers crossed.

Today I had the surprise of caravan insurance renewal in the mail. Truly these companies are living with their heads in the sand. Last week I had to pay to have the "agreed value" of the patrol raised so that it would be a little bit closer to what it would cost to replace in the real world. I thought the idea of insurance was that if the object needed to be replaced, then the payout should be close to what the replacement would cost.

I also know that if I order a new van today it would probably be two years before that van comes off the factory floor, and at what price? I looked at what it would cost to buy another secondhand van, that has the same features as ours. The surprising thing is that there are none like it for sale at all and certainly none with full bathrooms under $50,000. CIL have given us the "agreed value" of 29,500. I rang to say that is not agreed and asked for a reasonable replacement value. They will go up a huge amount to $35,000 and no more . Looks like I am going to be doing a lot more research for van insurance. Generally, I am fed up with having to do all the research when the insurance companies know full well that the real world has had some huge changes in pricing.

Sorry for that whine. No more complaints this week from me.

With the Prius car insurance, it was replacement value .... then they tried to pull the market value was a poverty pack model, not the top of the range model my '06 Prius was ...... so then the assessor wanted an example of what the replacement value was .... I thought he was gunna choke when I sent him a few "Car Sales" links for similar model and equipment level as the standard off the showroom floor model, then added all the upgrades that the insurance had ok'ed ..... it was basically double the price it was off the showroom floor .....

The take away, insure for replacement value or market value, not depreciated or agreed value, unless they agree to a value that would buy you a replacement for what you have now ....

Gotta love a well set up system eh ;) If you can't get it sorted, you could always extend your travel plans to include a trip to Mannum and we could assist in upgrading you to an inverter 240vac fridge/freezer 8-)
