The first one was an accident, I doubt they'd believe a second one was an accident, and I lost quite a few $$ in stuff that got burnt in the last fire, so, no
We can buy water, by the truck load or from the mains trickle feed, the price either way more than covers the $$ for failed pumps etc

All the river water must still be up your way, hasn't reached here yet, The only time the river is high around here is when the wind pushes it up river, if the wind stops or reverses direction, the river level drops down a long way.
Not enough rain here to fill the tanks either, so I'm back to fighting with the river pumping to fill the toilet and garden taps water.

I see the weir has been dropped up here and it is just going through at the same level. Also the bottom park has been closed as the water is starting to creep through it. It is all heading your way.

The pump is a submersible type, the battery, soar controller and inverter are not I already have 4 solar panel just showing above the water line, so another 5 wouldn't be a good thing at all ....... If I could get the frame and blue plastic drums assembled quick enough, then they would stay above the waterline, but a bit too much designing and building to get the battery and inverter etc on there as well. Maybe lengths of pipe banged into the mud and a pallet as a platform on top might be a better idea to keep that gear above the waterline ..... depends how fast the water comes up I guess

No, that one never entered my mind Ray, have you tried it? I did put a float on the milk crate that holds the pump off the bottom and I added shade cloth around the outside of the milk crate to keep the big lumps of the pump ..... the idea was the float would keep the milk crate upright and above the water line so the junk didn't enter via the top ....... wind caught the float, sent the whole lot into the shallow section and put the crate on its side But the pump is still below the water line so it still works

Unless the oceans cool down, the evaporation (and then rain) is only going to continue.

Time to buy some inland acreage on a nice hill and watch the new tropical rain forests grow.
