Deorah,
Today was spent organizing his "wardrobe" for the week in hospital.
Now think of other things to do for the rest of the time till Thursday. following the surgery.
Get busy in the kitchen and cook up a stack of frozen meals so as you can spend time at the hospital as a visitor is one suggestion.
Take it easy Kid!
Keith.

I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Wot they said, Deb.
Hope all goes smoothly with His Nibs’ ‘bore & drain’…
Keith’s suggestion of lots of frozen meals is a good one — we always have a lasagne or some such in the freezer Just In Case.
I’m an expert re-heater of frozen foods.
Sous Chef (Thermomix) has also been a saviour at times… lots of recipes online, and I can search all 70,000-odd by what ingredients are on hand.
Last night SWMBO was a little off-colour, so I (well, Sous Chef & I) cooked a Baby Pea & Bacon Risotto.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Oh Deborah bugger everything and everyone else for now, only thing for you two to do is try to relax and try not to think too far ahead because things are going to be just fine. Sounds like your surgeon is a good one esp that he told you straight up and frightened the shite out of you but better than being told nothing. Just keep us informed as much or as little as you feel comfy doing but knowing we will be "rooting"
for you both. Today has been a beaut day, G has been re doing the birds cage with new shade cloth ready for summer, and also getting to work on the rust on the bus, friend is a panel beater and has told G how to do the easier bits. I gave the shrubs and trees a nice drink of seasol and they said thanks. Chins up Deborah xx Yes RnB we are very well aware of tradies these days, just getting quotes for now for the benefit of the court plus I will be checking with Dulux paints as these painters use their products.
Very tired after such a busy day's work
so take care everyone, stay away from water unless bathing, Goodnight one and all x
Goodnight Deborah xx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Yes Dot, all the chins will try to stay up . Good luck with painting stuff xxxx
Thanks all for the lovely wishes. The freezer is already full of the meals that I had been preparing for our big weekends away, so no more cooking this week.
As we get some news, I will share it, but at he moment, it's just taking time to be with each other and talking to the "kids" . Trying to keep them from taking precious holiday leave to be here while he is in intensive care. He won't know what's what, so the kids will probably stay in Sydney. But it's been a bit worrying, to put it mildly.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
See Deborah we do stick by our forum friends when they are feeling like a train has hit them / family. You know we are right behind you. Today I really over did things in the garden and boy am I suffering for it tonight. I was the wheelbarrow runner of the old mulch to a bare patch, used the hedge trimmer and made the old thumb sing and the ankles ache OK nothing for it but to take more pills
Lizard was back out sunning himself. Did a bit of burning off leaves and scrap bits of wood with nails in it. Off to town tomorrow for neck and tongue checkup then to see AJ physio, so it will be a long-drawn-out day as lots of roadworks going on between home and Mt Barker as the place has expanded so much the roads are being upgraded and the infamous big round abouts are underway. Bedtime now, Goodnight, everyone x
Goodnight Shirley x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Goodnight Dot, still having trouble getting to sleep so hot drink time for me, feeling very tired mowed our front yard today, washed the bed linen & the lads came over this arvo. Nathan was fishing today caught 3 bream, 1st time since all the dead fish littered the shore at Mannering Park.
