You are right Dot. I didn't stay awake listening to him breathing. He was coughing so much that we got very little sleep until I suggested a couple of extra pillows. Hospital bed had been elevated. After that, we both got some good sleep. xxxx
The coast has been getting a ton of rain again, but funny how we missed most of the heavy stuff. The Entrance has an annual show n shine on this weekend, they had to cancel the outdoor component because the field was a foot under water. So no show n shine and anyone who brought their pride n joy out in this weather is nuts.
The lair has been quite peaceful today with his lordship catching up on his ugly sleep and I have just been hovering to be useful if needed.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dottie,
We use 'Who Flung Dung' from Neutrog, it's a combination mulch & fertiliser/booster.
Good thing about it is the birds don't like it, & stay away. (They play in the birdbath instead.
)
When initially spread out, it has a decent smell to it, but that dissipates within a day or two.
We buy it in 20kg bags — 15 at a time… but then, we have 150+ roses to feed.
I guess if you use a smaller quantity, the smell would be less noticeable.
Available at the Hammer Shop.
Neutrog (a SA-based company) also produce a seaweed-based fertiliser called 'Seamungus', but it's not a mulch.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Off to the shower now then to cuddle up with my pussycat in a nice warm bed. Hope everyone is staying dry and warm and away from Covid spawning places. Going to get some of that Echo Whoflungpoo for the garden thanks Ray.
In NZ we used to stink the neighborhood out with silage from our friend's dairy farm: lol:
It was really a terrible stench esp when the sun hit it
Thinking of nicking off for a few days next week, we'll see. Goodnight everyone x

Hope you have an unlimited credit card Dot. Whoflungdung is really dear here and we just use sugar cane mulch. See how much it costs near you xxxx
Had a quiet day in the lair. Ducked up to get essential groceries like milk and bread and that was the exciting part of the day. I managed to snare an old farts parking spot. They are just a tad wider than the rest and are close to the shops. I was not happy to have a P plater stopping behind me to wait to get the spot when I left. She looked all of 18. So I drove back into the spot and turned the car off. I got a bit snarky because I reckon we worked hard to get to be this old and a little respect goes a long way.
What rain? Was meant to be pouring today, not really happening. Stay safe wherever you are with the rains.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
I have had 3 reasonably serious bouts of dizziness today which i have never previously experienced. Blood pressure tests have ranged between 120/80 and 130/83. Any ideas as to the reason? I hope I have a good night and trust you all will have the same.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Vertigo is a sensation of everything moving even when a person is standing still. People with vertigo feel dizzy, as though they are swaying, turning, or spinning. The condition can cause loss of balance and is often the result of problems with the vestibular system — the inner ear, visual system, and parts of the brain — which is responsible for balance and eye movement. The most common vertigo disorder is benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, which is caused by tiny calcium particles in the inner ear becoming loose.Newcastle George wrote: ↑Tue Oct 25, 2022 10:47 pm I have had 3 reasonably serious bouts of dizziness today which i have never previously experienced. I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Keith, this is not vertigo, it's more like a fainting feeling.

George those BP readings are quite normal so must be something else going on, ring your GP rooms or the A&E dept for advice. If it were like this reading (90/60 then you would need to get medical attention asap.
Today we did a bit more of gardening (I supervised) plus watched the fools putting solar on next doors roof, NO safety harness's, one guy had thongs on and their elect tools ie drills were also being used while the rain fell??? Their white van looked familiar Terry? I took a photo just in case someone fell. Brian got out of his cuddly bed for his tea went out

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
George, have you had covid? If you have, it is potentially one of the symptoms of long covid. I have had something similar since I had covid earlier this year. But it doesn't happen all the time.Newcastle George wrote: ↑Tue Oct 25, 2022 11:46 pm Keith, this is not vertigo, it's more like a fainting feeling.
