The girls have been asleep at my feet for some time now, I won't even wake them to go to sleep in the bedroom.

Not much rain last night so have to water the grass soon. Ray found a place that sells whoflungdung by the cubic mt. I did absolutely 0 today apart from planting 2 Punnett's of flowers.. Brian and Rosy had a little game of chasey this arvo, they are so funny to watch. Reckon a drive somewhere may be in order tomorrow, might even go and spray mum and dad's weeds. Thunder has started to roll in now. Spent the afternoon mixing chook poo and pig poo and chucking all over the garden (poo) Then laid 1 cubic mt of plain ol pine bark chips, another lot to do tomorrow if it isn't raining then we should be ok for a bit garden wise. Have used weed & feed on the lawn but the same weeds keep coming through (some have pretty little yellow flowers) but they don't seem to die off, any suggestions?Our friend Flo arrived in NZ today so I have told her to make sure she has a Weta Burger as well as fush & chups She has asked me what a "Weta Burger" is but I forgot to tell her Time to say goodnight everyone x Goodnight Nigel x Keep safe everyone and all the sickies get well soon xx

Back home with some nice storms passing us by after dropping their load. Will check every thing out tomorrow during the day.

Managed a 30 minute chat with my mate in Darwin, he has accepted the fact there is nothing that he wants them to do and has all his affairs in order.
Most likely two weeks to go and not a nice way to die, my father went down the same path and cutsed the medics when they revied him againts his wishes. Safe travel to those on the road cheers Robert.

Dottie,
Sounds like your weed with “pretty little yellow flowers” is either bindi or capeweed. If the leaves are long & feathery, it’s bindi.
I think there’s a special potion at the Hammer Shop for that.
If the leaves are wider and sit flat against the ground, it’s capeweed. Ag supply shops sell stuff called Bicambar-M. Spot-spray them and within 24hrs they curl up their leaves & die. Heavy infestation of either weed is a long-term job.
Took us three years to get rid of capeweed, and the birds keep giving us more.
Vigilance is the only solution.

Neither of those Ray, what you call Bindi we call calthrop and the cape weed is much bigger than the stuff we have. We do have winter grass though. Shall take some to a nursery next week. Will also try to get a decent pic if the weather clears enough.
