River level at Loxton

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

No idea how to fix it either, maybe Bruce will have a few hrs to sort it once the marina finally becomes part of the river and all those who haven't a clue will have left and the complaints might stop .....

I feel sorry for anyone that is trying to manage anything to do with this flood event. No one has experienced anything like this, on this scale, ever. Those in charge are damned if they do, and damned if they don't. And the habitual complainers are going to expect everything to revert to normal the moment the water goes down a bit.

Apparently there is a video on Farcebook with someone driving down the main street of Mannum yesterday and the second half of the video has the Marina recorded on 3rd Dec. You can see the video travels to the round about, looks to be filmed with a drone, then down the road to the Marina driveway. On the left you can see dirt road going up to the edge of the water, you can't see that now  The shed at the end of the turn around circle is now about a foot deep in water and there is a power box on the wall near the second gate that is now at the water level. The "Incredible" houseboats tied up on the left before they actually reach the Marina gate are now floating very close to the white bollards they are tied to ...... there is nothing behind them to hold them back so just a bit more river rise and they will be floating up past the bollards  Not much more and the road will go under, the council will barricade the road and those "Incredible" houseboats will be floating free across the road and into the water access for the houses, then on to the houses and ....... Who knows what they have planned, they are only now clearing all the stuff out on the shed, talk about leaving it a tad late.
In the Marina itself, the water is just starting to edge along the bitumen in parts, I'm guessing we will be driving through water this afternoon to drop Brian off at his boat.

They don't really show the depth now, when I put them on the forum they turn on their side and the water runs out ...... :?

If anyone here can access that Farcebook video and it is an open link thing where you don't have to sign into farcebook to view it, could they add the link onto this thread please
