Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Have you found your ideal temp yet Dot? We do use ceiling fans summer and winter, they don't change directions for the season, but with vaulted ceilings that are 20 foot high at the peak, hate to lose that expensive air to the roof. xxxx

Today I drove his nibs for his last (hopefully) CTscan. Results on Wednesday.
Six month ago he made an appointment to see an ENT. Today we got a text to ring the surgery to reschedule. From all that wait, the explanation is that "the doctor is not seeing patients that day" and then he was given an appointment in May. I nearly lost it with the receptionist. I took the appointment and then rang our gp and made an appointment to see him on Wednesday to get a different referal to another ENT, and have it marked as urgent. He is losing is hearing at a huge rate, so waiting until May is just pure cruelty.

I will share the library boxes with you. There are only 3 of them, but the work involved was huge. If we had used much better quality paint, it would have felt a lot better too.

The calendar arrived today and thankfully some of the print is a little bit bigger, but the sizing of the font is very variable, some is still unreadable, but mostly the finished product is much better than last year's one.

Sweet dreams xxx

That's ridiculous regarding the ENT. Once made, it should be locked in.

Deborah, love the book library boxes. I hope they are used by everyone. I've often wondered how much 'traffic' needs to pass to make them work.

10/10 for the boxes Deborah, they look excellent, hope they get plenty of use, certainly eye catching.
Hope the results of the scan on Wednesday are good, his nibs has been unwell to long, time for you both to get away again soon.

Returned to bowls today, we were to start last Thursday but it rained, it was good catching up with everyone & having a roll, played pairs & we won 26-13, feeling happy with the result.

Local news tonight, the Walka Water Works in Maitland that use to be the water supply, is undergoing a major update to open it up as a tourist attraction, 20 years ago it was under control of volunteer organisation & we use to camp there often with our older grandson, it was a great place to spend a few days, hopefully the new CP area will be affordable to all.

Dot, stay on the bright side of life    enjoy the laughs mate xxxx

Thanks Shirley and Jon. Our town already has a few library boxes that are in constant use. We have a volunteer, who removes a lot of old stock and switches books from one box to another to keep a sort of rotation going. The town love them and they get a lot of use.

Good to see you finally gave those balls a workout Shirley. Have you trained them to obey you yet? ;)

His nibs took the patrol for it's service today, so I had some quiet time. Not for long. A man from that shed came to collect one box, for them to make up a metal stand for it. Once it is finished and erected, he will come for another box. They don't have enough room for them all in their precious shed. Bad luck that my verandah is becoming the town garbage dump.

I planted out a couple of large shrubs today and it was enough exercise for one hot day. The ground is as hard as and he only has huge, heavy shovels that would do the job. I was given three plants for Christmas and I hate to see them just sitting in the big pots, so two of them are now looking a lot happier in the proper garden. I will push his nibs to do the third one soon.

I think Mr Pell had a bad gas man for his hip op a needle full of air :?: should of had a spinal guess he's being questioned now, will he go up or down :?: Off for a shower now so Goodnight everyone :D Goodnight Jd x :D loved the snowpeople.

Dot, I will leave the judging of Pell to the admissions dept, whether he goes up or down is not in our control. Keep a close watch out for the wriggly sticks then. Would encouraging a few kookaburras help? I would happily leave out some tasty chopped up snacks for the kookas any day. xxxx

Today we had some good news and did a lot of begging to get it. Firstly the CTscan from Monday is showing good improvements. That helps.
Next, I remembered that one of our Jayco mates had been the practice manager for a big ENT clinic in town. I sent her some messages and she rang back fairly quickly. She has already arranged for His lordship to see an audiologist early March and has put him on a wait list for any cancellations that may come in sooner. I really should have thought of her months ago, but hate to ask friends for that sort of preferential treatment. She told us that it's common for ENT people to keep pushing aside patients who have tinitis and hearing loss, because they don't need operations therefore no extra money coming in. Her clinic is one that has some forms of treatments for his conditions and all avenues will be taken seriously with him being considered a person and not a bankcard. Our GP saw us today and he will not be referring any patients to either the neuro surgeon who saw us first or the ENT. He was pretty annoyed that we were treated like that.

I saw my chiro this afternoon, and found that she has had similar issues with both the ENT and the neurosurgeon who did the first op. It was good to compare notes and now I know that my fears and anger were totally reasonable.

Tomorrow we will be returning to the nice lady neuro surgeon and hopefully she will give us the all clear to return to our lives. Fingers are croosed.

Deborah never feel like you jumped the Q by asking for a favor. People these days should be more assertive esp with the reception gods. I love my ENT man, nothing is ever too much trouble, he even rings if requested to even his PA is very helpful. Glad you got further up the ladder for the old fella. A person on here whom I will not name sent me a video named Pot plants and he knows how I feel about those wriggly sticks. We do have Kookas about.Had a baby black bird just sitting on the grass and his mum hopping around feeding it, I went down the back to refill the bird baths and saw another baby on a bush and his dad standing guard? they were the same size so I picked up the one on the lawn and took it over to the other one on the bush as the prowling cats could of easily got it in the yard. Brian was kept away all day but he wasn't bothered anyway as he watched from inside the pergola then came inside and went to sleep. Now it is time for a shower and bed so Goodnight everyone x :D Good night you naughty boy Pet-els x :D

Thanks Dot, I hated to ask for favors, but as you say, sometimes you have to be assertive. Good luck with those horrible wriggly things xxxx

The last 2 days have been hard. First the good news. His nibs nice specialist is happy with the improvements and expect it to be fully drained in a couple of more months. A CT Scan etc will happen then.

I had been getting text messages and emails from paypal warning of a money request of US$500 that looked suspicious. After the fourth one, I decided to have a look at my paypal account. I logged in and found there was an entry for $500 and the same message that I had been texted was attached to this . I assumed this phone number would be genuine as it was on the paypal page. I rang it and gave the person access to the computer (with my head saying no don't do this). It slowly become him on a mission to get my personal data. He asked me to log into my internet banking and check the entry for $500 had not been there yet. I replied that I don't do internet banking. Next request was to open up a notebook page and type in my credit card details. Definite signs they were not paypal. So I refused and hung up the phone. It took me about 3 minutes to gain control of the mouse and turn the machine off and disconnect the internet.

I contacted banks etc to cancel any access until computer is cleaned and have had no money removed at all. Bank lady said to leave computer and internet unpugged until a tech has totally cleaned the lot out.

Lovely techy man came this morning and he removed all of the tons of programs that belonged to the scammers. I had written down the program that they had me use to allow them access, so it gave techy a good starting point. The scariest of the programs was one that would get the attention of the scammers, every time that the computer is turned on with the internet on. When he was satisfied that all the hidden junk had been removed, he them connected to internet and did some more extra thorough cleaning.

He told me a lot of interesting things, but the best thing was that if any person gives you this type of scare, to disconnect the internet, even before you try to turn off the computer. Tell the scammers you are having a black out and will ring them back when the power is restored. Use a phone, another computer or ipad to check the credentials of the person and get help asap.

The drama was not fully over. I logged into my paypal account and found the message of debt for $500 and scammers phone number was still there and there was another entry. Yesterday, the creep had set up an automatic deduction of $7.99, hoping I wouldn't see that. I rang my bank to verify that they would not allow this to be removed and they gave me a direst number to paypal scams service. 1800 073 263 and I hope you never need it.

In person, the paypal lady was great. She was able to see the fraudulent message on my account and the automatic deduction that had been set up. She completely wiped all debt from my account and has set up a scam watch on the nasties. They have had access to paypal blocked and the feds have been asked to join in the witch hunt.

This has been stressful and I feel a bit stooopid, but I recognise the way the scammers wore me down at a time, when I would probably have dealt differently, except for my current stressed out brain. Obviously I will be a lot more cautious of this sort of activity and will get better security clearances before allowing access to my computer (if at all) . I have had some wonderfully kind people in call centres helping me and I am grateful for that. My faith in human nature is restored, but all of you, need to be super diligent to avoid this kind of crap.

Sorry for the super long saga, but it has been quite a saga.

I will sleep a lot better tonight,
night all xxx
Deborah
