John will get more information on Saturday when we are there. Ours is run through the council and they provide the community hall when it is needed.
Will find out about insurance as well as I do know we have it. Run on a basis of care but no responsibility for work done.
Where are you based mate cheers Robert
Good morning daily

Re: Good morning daily
Our local Men’s Shed hosted a Repair Cafe for a while in 2019. The initiative came from a couple of local women who suggested it to the Shed President.
It died from a combination of Covid & lack of community support.
The work was really just an extension of what the Shed does anyway. There’s a steady stream of people bringing broken furniture, lawnmowers, etc… even pieces of jewellery! (One of the members taught woodwork, metalwork & silversmithing at the local high school.)
Public liability insurance was courtesy of the local community health centre (don’t ask, it’s a long story).
Repairs were done on the basis of ‘best efforts, but no responsibility’.
You may recall a year or so ago I posted pix of an antique marble-topped side table I repaired… successfully.

Morning everyone.
I'm off to the bigsmoke shopping today, solo... maybe for the last time finger Xed
Not much happened here today, just more tiding up stuff in the house motorhome and shed.
Different councils here Shirley, if we put something out on the curbside we get a fine for littering...go figure
Boys will have a lot of fun with their "find"
Keep safe everyone.
Bernie.

Re: Good morning daily
Bernie, we are allowed 6 free pick up per year, they can be either green waste or household junk, building materials not allowed, one can just book a pick up online when needed, it’s actually amazing the really great furniture that is left out to be broken to bits in the trucks, every week folk drive around the suburbs before regular garbage day looking to see what folk have discarded, I’m sure some people make money out of what they collect for nothing, when you book a pickup it is always done on your regular garbage day.
My sons table & chairs that they use everyday came from the roadside.

Re: Good morning daily
Arvo all, too hot to be doing stuff out doors apart from topping the bird baths up and watering the newly planted cucumbers along with turning the birds misting fan on for them.
Queen of the Banal & OT chatter and proud of it. If it offends you then tough titty titty bang bang.

Morning all.
I was a busy little bee yesterday getting all that was on the spreadsheet
plus some that wasn't
Our "new" neighbors' arrived yesterday across from us, I said Gday, they are/were full time caravanner's. And apparently off again this morning...
Everything we take to the tip here costs $$$ the cheapest is green waist $5 and climbs up from there...I don't use the tip, I make everything fit in the wheelie bin
As I wasn.t home I don't know what else may have happened in down town Degilbo
Its only 20* here at the moment.
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone. Its around 23 ° here with 70% humidity. We are heading south to Ballina this morning, for a long weekend away with the gkids. Back on Sunday, the eldest has a shift at Maccas.
Bernie, you should try to not be real good at shopping by yourself. You might get that gig permanently.
Our tips are still free for small loads, but if if it's bigger than a ute load you have to go to the main dump, and then it's not free. Plenty of stuff gets left on the road verge around here. Most of it is gone in a couple of days.
Have a pleasant day everybody. Safe travels.
