Re: Good morning daily
What should I use for a title for this book Jon?
It was predicted to be 36*c + yesterday, so we figured 40*c + in the shed, so decided to have the day off .... well that was the plan anyway. Margaret woke me at 8am, the pump won't turn on
after the usual attempts and a bit of percussive maintenance, it still wouldn't go .... remove the pump, strip it down, scrape out all the dirt build up and see if that was what was jamming the impeller, motor spun freely after reassemble, bargain, reinstalled letting the water run through at each stage to flush out any bad stuff, started the pump up without the pipe work attached and a largish piece of broken plastic came out ..... hmmm..... reconnected the pipe work, the pump would run and stop, etc, but not much flow. On the phone and 'puter to track down parts etc, new replacement cast iron pump NLA
parts, they would do the searching and get back to us, but nothing in stock ..... found a replacement but larger capacity in Mt Barker, $570, called in at the place we rang for parts in Murray Bridge, cast iron pump is NLA, yeah, knew that, but we do have a plastic body model without the flow switch .....
same size, model etc, but instead of made in France, made in PRC ..... typical, but only $400, plus the labour charge for them to fit the flow switch .... just sell us the pump, I'll sort the rest, if you bring back the damaged pump after you have swapped over the required bits, we can rebuild it so you have a spare .... just the parts, I can rebuild it .... reassemble the pump and installed, works but the pressure isn't as good as it was with the cast iron body pump, but better than no water at all ..... so much for the day under the air con I'd planned

Good morning.
I dug three holes for the shed yesterday morning...early
Three more to do.
Bloke in the phone sez it's gunna be 4* warmer today...it's already 26*
Not much else went on that is exciting to write about.
It's a good thing I don't read books

Keep safe everyone.
Bernie.

Re: Good morning daily
Good Aftermorning all!
Nigel promised us a max of 30 today.
It’s now 36.2 in the shade according to our weather station.
I’ve called it quits on outside work, and SWMBO has just shut down the ride-on mower.
(She reckons I have too much fun on it, and wants her share.
)
Time for a cold salad … well, one fruit anyway, soaked in water: hops mixed with some yeast & barley.
