The owners of job I hope to sort today, made dinner for us last night so it was salads, sausages, I think beef ribs and rissoles, washed down with a few steaks. I was DD last night so Margaret had a few wines, then opened another bottle and repeated the process
Today's story, T1 rewires a circuit breaker box ......

The body is complaining big time this morning, the back and neck along with the knees want to know what I was thinking spending so long working under lift up lid seat and rewiring an electrical box while kneeling and leaning in a cupboard ...... I wonder who wires these things, rather than loop the inputs in the separate circuit breakers, they bunched all the active together and all the neutral together in a lump if solder, then ran all the wires around the group of circuit breakers from the bottom of the main double circuit breaker (not an RCD) to feed each breaker for each individual circuit from the top, then all the 2.5mm conductor white flex cord stripped back and stuffed in under the circuit breakers with all the earth cables in one big lump of solder that at least they wrapped in electrical tape ......not much room left to add another two lengths of 2.5mm conductor cable that had to run back to the inverter. Adding the cramped space, I had to add an RCD to protect all the cabling after the shore power inlet .... what should have taken 10 mins took 4 hrs, but at least it now has a separate earth busbar tucked up beside the space circuit breakers and new RCD where the cabling to the circuit breakers was run.

Todays task is to Google if this type of circuit breaker can be wired bottom to top rather than top to bottom so I can get another 4 cable lengths out from behind the circuit breakers .....

It was probably the same dolt who wired up the steering column electrics on Girt.

In 2010 when the headlight flashers Failed To Proceed, I dropped in on an auto elec in Townsville (because that's where it happened! ).
He took the cover off, poked his head into the space, then put the cover back on.
He explained that it would be a four~six hour job, as all the controls had been wired up with one colour of insulation, and he'd have to spend the day chasing down every circuit & rewiring them. He was far too busy to take a day out to sort it.

It still hadn't been sorted when we sold Girt last September.

Morning all woke up with the sound of rolling thunder but no rain in the last 2 hours. Expecting showers today which would be nice.

Over did yesterday and too long on my feet. Pain was bad late afternoon through the evening so a bit of pain relief and red wine to help. Woke up about 3 hours later, missed the cricket and red wine still there so this black duck went to bed.

Friend came around mid afternoon and removed the fridge and finished of the fridge wiring so a win there.

Busy day today mainly on the phone, have a leak in the main water line after the meter so have to organise a fix there.
Organise medical an eyesight test for yearly licence report.
Five and a half months wait to see a breathing specialist and they as a week before for referal ( already sent to get appointment) xrays and any reports.
Not very organised.

Good morning 24c, dull & o’cast, telling us max today will be 24c & maybe a shower or two, predicting rain all week, the lawn & garden needs it.
Bowled y’day temperature was over 30c, thankful for the aircon in the club when we finally finished.

Are yes, the wiring harness with all the same colour wires, but a number every mtr or so that refers to the manufacturers wiring schematic for that yr and particular model with what ever accessory included wiring in the harness and if there has been a revision or a replacement wiring harness from a later model fitted An absolute nightmare pre-interweb days, but even if a single wire had been cut at one end to make a repair, a mtr of the wiring harness had to be unwrapped to find the next print of that cables number.

The other nightmare ones are the vehicle or equipment constructors made wiring harness. A number tag at each end of the cable and you needed the schematic for that build number .... then the last numb nuts who repaired a wire, cut the cable off with the number tag on it ....... I had three of those to contend with when I worked for the rail repair people, they bought the only three proto-types of this particular piece of equipment from a US company that went into liquidation, all in packing cases.
Only one was built and the other two for spares, but all three lots were in play so no idea which bit came from which design build ..... each was a different design, so three different wiring harnesses, so bits of cable cut off one harness and spliced into the one operating vehicle, numbers at one end didn't match the numbers at the other end and the schematic, if you could call it that, didn't have half the parts marked on it so they were off a different model ...... the F word was used more than once sorting that mess, the original build had a truck driver, a plant operator and a number of day hire labourers that finish their job early so were put on the build job to finish off their days hire ..... and the whole assembly took 2 yrs because it was done during down time, then the "wiring and hydraulics schematics" hand drawn by someone who know nothing about how a wiring schematic or hydraulics schematic was supposed to be drawn and wasn't actually there all the way through the build ..... and didn't work for the company any more .....

Well good morning everyone! Today the marina gates are being unlocked and up to 3 tonne limit on the road is allowed in.
I'm a little early as I've been given the job of opening the gate.

Good morning everyone. Bruce, that must be a weight off your mind. With the marina open people can go back to doing what they do. How long was it, 8 weeks? Will the dead fish problem in the Darling get down to you guys?
We just had a cuppla little heavy showers of rain. I hope it takes some of the humidity away.
