Safe travelling mate love the small report on each place you stop. Can you also please give a bit on internet strength as Molly still has to work when we are travelling. Cheers Robert

We tried, really we did!
Someone had removed the sign at the May’s Bend turnoff, and the first place it was safe to do a U-turn was 60km down the road!!
We kept driving, expecting to come across a decent rest area… but the only one we found was a bit boggy.
So here we are in Cunnamulla! Riverside CP is dog-friendly. We’ve stayed here before. V pleasant sites with a gravel stand and a private lawn each… much like a certain club’s initial attempt at a M/home-only campground.
We’re in the CP because it appears one of our batteries has died and the other is on strike with grief. Barely enough power to operate the dunny flush!
… to be continued…

Ray

Part the two:
Batteries replaced and 🤞all is well with the world.
🤔
One battery was definitely ready for a funeral and cremation, the other one was ready to be admitted to Palliative Care.
This is our Cunnamulla home — for one more night. (EDIT: We’ve decided to stay two nights.)

Tomorrow’s target is Wyandra, 80-odd km north, seeing as Charleville’s C£€A park is still closed due to a surfeit of rain.
That will put us within a sensible distance of Mitchell, where we have previously stayed.

ps. Just had a message from Tanks.
His laptop has gone on strike, and he is waiting for Telstra to arrive and restore his connection to the world.
He asked me to post this in case anyone thinks he is miffed at someone here. Not the case. 😀

pps. FYI — Two bars of 4G at the CP, 4km out of town. Not much better IN town. 😁

Currently on our second night in Condobolin, at Gum Bend Lake campground.
First night OTR was at Ardlethan’s free campground, with 12hrs of power for $2.00!
We must have piggybacked on someone else’s $2, because we had almost 20hrs after I donated my $2… 😀
Tomorrow the target is Nyngan.
Order is ar$eabout, but top pic is Gum Bend Lake, bottom pic is Ardlethan.
We have to be home by 30 April, as I have a medical appointment soon after.

Vik,
The $2-in-the-slot boxes (one for each site) are on the back of the amenities block ("toilets" in plain English) in a very pleasant park next door to the Bowling Club. Parking is at the back, between the park and the freight line. Once tucked in for the night, we didn't hear the trains.

PROGRESS REPORT:
I have not posted pix of last night's stay in Morven, as it would be interchangeable with Nyngan & our current site, Injune: gravel, sparse grass on the footy oval (no camping on the oval) & dunnies I wouldn't use. Ours is clean.
However, there is a certain RV club which might be pi$$ed that the Morven signwriter didn't read the plaque on the dump point lid…
(Click & read the small sign.)

Here's our current site. Called "Possum Park", but I think they got carried away by the alliteration. Should be "Possum Gravel Pit".

At least I know that my new D11 ride-on is being delivered… :D

After an overnight at Emerald CP (no pix — seen one CP, seen 'em all) we arrived at The Bunker in Dysart in time for late morning tea.
Keith was introduced to the girls, and immediately fell in love (again). Unfortunately, he can only have a lend of them. We'd like to take them home with us. :D
Our visit coincided with the visit by the District Nurse, and Keith was on his best behaviour: he didn't chase her around the house. :P
Our presence may have had something to do with that, but the jury is still out. ;)
We're here until after Easter, avoiding the roads while all the amateurs (idiots?) dust off their caravans for the once-a-year outing.
Keith is disappointed that we can't stay longer, as usual, but home duties can't be left too long or the garden goes feral and we spend 6~9 months restoring order.
Although I have often said I speak fluent Caravan as well as Motorhome, after 26 years of motorhoming, living in caravan country is somewhat of a different kettle of poisson.
All that hitching and unhitching… takes a while to get the head around it. Twelve-pin plug for lights & indicators, Anderson plugs for fridge & van battery, cable for the rear-view camera, breakaway cable... then there's the safety chains. Almost need a checklist.
And I have discovered that caravans are a lot more bouncy than motorhomes. Ya gotta tie more stuff down… like the contents of the fridge.
After a 200km drive you have to play a game of "Where has the cheese tub/salami/tomatoes moved to?" Sometimes, stuff leaps for freedom when you open the fridge door!
At least the milk cartons know to stay in the fridge door…

Ray glad to hear you are having fun, a check list for the outside is handy when you are hitching up. Can you remember what the internet receiption at Gum Bend Lake was like. Hoping to be thete for a few days in June for a meet and cook with some friends.

Best to Keith and safe travelling Robert

Best thing about MHs is that you arrive at a place, pull up, have the kettle on & are sitting down enjoying in less than 5 minutes & you don’t have to get out unhitch if you’re staying etc.,
