Re: Perpetual motion ?
That is very interesting, seems to have something to do with the small magnets that were inserted. I may have to watch it again.

Re: Perpetual motion ?
Agree with you George, I think it is pretty clear from the vid that there are no hidden bits or power source, would like someone more experinced in car alternators to give their thoughts.

Re: Perpetual motion ?
Me too! We have 'ghost' power in the Marina it seems.
We finally have power back to every houseboat but the underground wire to the shed/gate area is "down" as the leccies call it. (dead short to earth)
To enable all other circuits they disconnected that fat wire (3 phase) to that area & capped the both ends individually. (totally dead!)
I decided to poke around with a few of the wires left hanging out where the auto gate mechanism was removed from.
Supposed to be dead I was told but me being me trusts no one!
Yep, hot wires!
Went back & turned all breakers off but it's still hot.
Ended up placing a danger sign & left it to those that know about these things.
David can a hot wire 600 deep be detected/traced with a ?????

Re: Perpetual motion ?
Bruce, the specialist cable location mobs should be able to find and follow it. Some might even be able to tell you how far along the fault is.
You should also be aware that any cable can potentially be 'live' due to induction. Think transformer. Underground cables and flooded ground is always challenging.

Re: Perpetual motion ?
Time domain reflectromity.
Used it years ago. Sends a pulse up a cable and measures the time it takes to come came.
The pulse it reflected back from where there is a break or short.
Time equals distance. Very smart.
