Engel fridge seals?

Post by BruceS »

Has anyone replaced the lid seal on an Engel fridge?
Did you find a reasonably priced source of them or is it best just to go to the factory spare parts shop?
Mine is still fairly good but is going a little hard & the skirt on the edge is not doing anything. (I think?)

Thankyou Bob. Mine is OK but is starting to get a bit hard and doesn't pop back into it's original shape very much.
Actually looking more closely where the gas pipes come in there is a bit of a gap that would almost be impossible to seal. I might get some "roof & Gutter" silicon and do the glad wrap trick on it with a flat 'breadboard' or similar like I've done in the past with gelcoat.
Mostly I was just curious if there was a cheap souce around. There are several "fridge seal" supply places around but none mention Engel.

How's the fishing going?

You can find seals at several places in South Australia.

Which begs the question; Which came first, the seal or the fridge?

haha... yep the seal came first!
We have a great big old buck seal that sleeps on the banks of seaweed on the beach. Very old and tired...... suspect he's come to die here.
