I would like to do some funny stuff with the photo shop thing Free of course, so any recommendations for this non tech lady would be appreciated..

Dot I added to my post but it never showed up.
I'll help you get Photo Shop Pro on your machine & then you'll have to do a lot of experimenting as to how you do what you wish to do.
