Re: Heat Pump hot water
In our coach (VP) we use a T1 idea, take the DC from 2000 watts of panels and run it past some DC elements, in one hour we have 50 ltrs storage tank full of steaming hot water. In the meantime the 1000 watts on the trailer is still charging the Liths bank.Nil cost apart from some electrical bits to set it up.

Re: Heat Pump hot water
Peter, if you do a search for "ecogenica heat pump instruction manual" you will find a link for a pdf which explains the system.

Thanks George, I've found them on ebay too, $1700 for the whole unit.

Re: Heat Pump hot water
Peter, I got mine, 215L, from Accredited Power, total cost $33, supply, fitting and disposal of old off peak unit. I have been able to set the heating to 9am-12midday and 3pm-5pm so that it uses our solar.
