Happy travels Dot xxxx
We found that the freezer was not doing it's thing and noticed the dial wasn't quite up the top where it should have been. Today was spent emptying everything out of the freezer and a lot of things out of the fridge. What a a wasteful experience. Wworths was again visited to get some more things to have meals when out of reach of shops. Emerald has most things that we could need, but once at Sapphire, there is a little corner store.
That was enough for one day.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Had a very quiet day today. G has sussed the town out and he found 2 op shops for me to do tomorrow. There is an old bus that has been here for the past 16 years, it has a little shed along side and an enclosed annex. had some wind and a few drops of rain this evening. Did a load of washing and all dried and put away thanks to the wind. Vet rang us to report on Brians blood tests from last week, he has a slight elevation in his liver enzymes but nothing real bad but keep an eye on things. Had a bit of a "discussion" on our way here, Gman was giving the directions and I mentioned "do we go up those hills?" He replied "I don't think so" BUT guess what? YES we did. Anyway we did a good job climbing those hills but there were also some crappy roads before we got to out destination yesterday.. Sunday night we stopped in a rest stop Dublin Nth Rest area, big enough but very close to the highway. 2nd night was about 500 mts sth of a neat little town Arthurton, had a free night spot at the back of the Catholic church but the council had taken it over as a truck stop so that's why we went to the gravel pit, a big solid area and as quiet as a mouse. Good night's sleep but very cold at night. Then we headed to out destination Yorketown cp. We have the biggest site here but to get out we will have to ask the van in front of us to please move
No room to put an awning out as there are shrubs there. We have a friend that used to live in Minlaton (not too far away) a few yrs ago, his wife died from MS so he moved to NT for his love of fishing, he is back down here to have his cataract's done, he had put his name down when he was living here so when he got the call up he jumped a plane and is staying with a friend then flies back Nth He said to have his eyes done in Qld the waiting list would be 5 yrs. Seeing him on Sunday. He was boss diesel mech for Gilberts transport here in Adelaide. His wife was a real dag, she was banned from the supermarket because her gofer was hotted up and she had little control over it in confined spaces
Time for bed e buys soon so hope everyone is ok. Goodnight, everyone x
Goodnight, Tanks

"tanks" here---
I'M BACK ON TELSTRA NETWORK AGAIN.
It only took 20 minutes and $70 (+) in the Telstra Shop to get the problem fixed.
The modem that I have had for a long time had done its Lollie and that was the problem.
This means that I can leave the house --eg: go to hospital or go to Wyalkatchem and still have internet access.
Whereas being defendant on Pams system I was limited to within about 70 meters of the house.
If I went any further away from the base thing, I could not get a connection.
This limited me in using the internet to pay invoices, play e-Bay, and google things and check my bank accounts.
I am one pleased bloke now that I am free to come and go and still have communications.
Keith.

I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Hope you are happy being a sardine Dot...the things we do xxxx
Keith, welcome back mate. It's so good to see you have proper internet.
We made the long trip from Emerald to Sapphire. It only took an hour with a stop to get fresh bread and some pies for dinner. We are in the blue gems caravan park, which is behind the servo. It's pretty basic, but what would you expect fir $33 per night. Just like Dot, I do think we may need to ask for the key to the sardine can when it's time for us to leave here. The owners are making the most of the tourist season, not an inch of ground is left uncovered by some sort of vehicle.
Trivia, in Emerald, there are no emerald mines, but in Sapphire, the whole place is full of sapphire mines.
Tomorrow is set up the stall day, so my stay calm attitude takes a blow. Once the stall is set out and all decisions have been made, the rest just follows on. I am not real keen on starting each trading day at 8am, will be checking that isn't a typo tomorrow.
night all xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, You will never guess who is organising the indoor traders? Your old mate Wendy. We had a good chat today and she asked me to say hello for her. So "hello". xxxx
Being set up day, it was a bit tricky. The hall is quite big and new. Nobody from the planning group were allowed into the hall until yesterday and the kitchen is yet to be connected to water. Our stall is three tables set our in a U shape. Sadly it feels like the middle of nowhere and the security may be difficult. We have fiddled with it a bit and will add a small table behind us tomorrow, just to keep the money safe (assuming there will be money),
We came back to the van and just slept for a couple of hours. Next problem, we have to be at the stall by 8am.....that will be interesting.
