Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Another week has passed and I've nothing to show for it except a few new bird baths for the front and back yards. Now I just have to wait for the birds.
Keith.
Tanks, we have a few of the local birds drop into our place, many on a daily basis. We have lots of flowering shrubs and we put out some commercial birdseed every few days. There definitely is a pecking order. Some even enjoy time in the bird bath.
David, I buy the 10kg bags of wild bird mix seed from Coles.
The Dysart birds enjoyed the range of seeds. I am still waiting for the WA birds to show up.
The bird baths are a new thing to the yard so I guess it may take a few days/weeks.
Keith.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Well, spent the second half of the day annoying Harvey Norman sales staff trying decide on the combination of appliances, or combo appliances, or .... not really sure what combination of each or any was determined after a number of hrs. The first choice of combo microwave, steam cooker, griller, oven and not sure what else it did, would fit where we wanted, but apparently it needed 100mm either side and 200mm clearance above it and the 15mm either side and 30mm above it wasn't enough ... back to the possible combinations of other appliances, one with 22 cooking functions ... seemed to meet all the requirements ... till I tried to pick it up, forget it, it would need to live on a bench rather than going in the cupboard ... not on apparently, so a break for coffee and round two .... the next choice microwave combo unit actually had an air fryer as part of the things it could do ... and it was cheaper .... but it needed even more space around it ..... then maybe a cheap microwave and separate cheap air fryer .... not really big enough to cook a pork roast in the air fryer and one big enough was too heavy ..... eventually, left without buying anything and the whole idea is being revisited  but we did get the clear floor paint stuff so I can paint under the fridge .....

On the way home, the fridge size was disgusted and the next idea appears to be replacing the 12/240v two door fridge with a bigger household inverter type fridge and doing away with the microwave above the fridge all together .....
Then .....
will we ever actually use the gas oven that has never been used, what if we replaced that with one of the microwave combo units or air fryer combo units or ......
Then.....
What about replacing the gas cooktop with an induction cooktop and moving the gas oven and cooktop outside as a slide out from a bin ......

In fairness, it was me who suggested removing the gas cooktop and oven, I hate gas inside the motorhome ....

So much for retirement and putting the feet up .....

Terry you will find that unused ovens are really good for storing stuff in, like an air fryer or something. Also a good spot to keep tea towels and other kitchen things. But then, you can do the same with an air fryer. Best part about having a portable air fryer is you can put it outside on the table or even just on the ground and cook stuff, when it is stinking hot and you want the airco to keep the inside cool.

Terry, it night pay to visit a library and research choice magazines. They have dome tests on a lot of those airfryers recently and microwaves are often discussed.
Happy shopping/researching.

Good morning everyone. A storm rolled in here just on dark last night. Lots of noise and a huge light show. We didn't get any heavy hail, but a bit further north did. The gkids and their parents were caught up in it. Don't know how their car faired yet. We have had some light rain for the past few hours, which should make the cockies happy. I had planned on heading down south a bit to visit a mate, but that may change if this weather gets worse.
Safe travels all those that are out and about.
Cheers

A very late good morning...that dreaded thingy didn't want to play ball
Well after my bacon and eggs yesterday I decided it was time to put our TV in the motorhome...as apposed to the one that came with it...First thing I noticed was how much lighter ours was compared to the other. So I then had to make a new fixing for the telly...
That done I put the plug into the power receptacle....no bloody power...checked all the fuses as one does...still nothing...and now...I don't have power to the dash..GRRR, So all fuses in the motorhome were checked via oms meter...all good...what hair I had left I was trying to pull out  BUT...there's always a BUT :D when all fuses were back I wiggled one of the wires...the one that goes to the dash...power came on wiggle it again power goes off.
Looks like the fuse block itself is the culprit :?: And guess what I have a brand new fuse block...here comes that BUT again...I can't find it
Carol off to the last bingo today...they are having a party when finished.
So I have till she gets home time to find my elusive fuse block.
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Off to play battery installer today, well, rearrange stuff already fitted really, to make room for other stuff while we wait for the replacement cells to arrive. Have to check out the solar that's been fitted to see how it's both attached and wired, I plan to replace the MPP Solar brand solar controller with a Victron Smart so it can talk to the BMV as well as communicate with his smart phone so I don't have to run cable from the front boot to inside the van.
Hopefully he still has the control box, if not, an alternative will need to be either found or built .... really looking forward to that part

Deborah, we paid up the $$ and rejoined Choice on line so we could see their test results, then looked at independent owner reviews on a few sites .... and ended up more confused than when we started  We learnt yesterday, size of the enclosure to allow space around anything that has a heating element seems to be the important bit, a microwave needs far less space than a microwave combo unit. After looking at so many choices, I'm kind leaning towards a unit that includes a steam function as well as an air fryer function, mostly for the ease of cleaning. They have a return drip tray that catches the condensed steam droplets and that helps to wash down any rubbish that ends up inside the vent grilles, the area that the dreaded smells breed in both combo microwaves and air fryers, that unpleasant smell they develop (over time) when heating up.
Maybe a snug fit inside the oven space might be the go, I'll look at that when time permits.

Good afternoon, big thunder and gentle rain at present, may get worse later tonight, the garden man was to gring the mulch stuff today but his worker didn't turn up so tomorrow is the day. The mulch is council stuff that we (ratepayers) paid to dump out green waste. At least there has been some good rain. Couldn't say goodnight as was unable to get in
