Poor ol AJ, everything went wrong for her today, plumber ordered the wrong sized shower screen, also sparkie told her she could not put a power point within x inches near a sink and 2 more feet would have to be taken off the wall ( 2 ft thick). Washing machine has not been installed as promised, and a couple of other things. We will be going around there tomorrow to do some more whipper snipping and chopping crazy overgrown climbers down. I got a treatment at last. :D Brian also had his check up for his sniffles resulted from the cat flu and herpes when he was a baby. Continue his meds as I have been doing, add a paste for his dicky lung . He goes back in a month for his pre dental clean work up ie X/Rays and bloods then later he has his teeth scaled and polished and if any extractions . Take care everyone. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Petels aka Peter x :D

busy little vegemite's we were today, buggered now though. We attacked a huge fake passionfruit vine off AJ's shed, pulled a strange shelter down, G did a large area of whipper snipping and I cut back a big shrub. Filled up the green waste bin and need a mulcher to do the rest BUT our mulcher is just a blob in Terry's shed. :( :( :( Off to see the GP tomorrow and maybe do the op shop rounds :) and check the block for weeds and maybe plovers  . Off to bed now so Goodnight everyone x :D Hot weather coming for the next few days or so , slip slop slap etc etc Goodnight Tanks x :D

"tanks" here---
WOW--due to a VIOLENT STORM at 2 pm Tuesday, the Central Wheatbelt and several other areas have had a power outage, and to make matters worse there has b been a failure in the phone system for both dial phones and mobile phones. The Internet only came back on about 1 hour ago, so I can get this message on the forum (I think).
The power is still off and I have been running the house on a generator since Tuesday.
The Police call in and check on me each day (I am registered on Western Power Life Support)The police lady told me that they expect to have the power problem fixed sometime next week.
Hundreds of poles and kilometers of wire are down and have to be replaced.
The Police told me that Kalgoorlie was out of power, and almost out of water with the Perth/Kal water pipeline bursting in about 6 places.
The damages were mainly from lightning strikes, cyclone or typhoon-force winds, rain, and hail.
I will try to keep the forum updated------depending on the internet and my generator.
Keith.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Hi Tanks, at least the coppers can get the fuel for your gennie, no power would mean doing the fuel the old-fashioned way ie pumping it by hand ;) ;) sure is a huge area of devastation that will have a huge impact on thousands of people. Take it easy ok. We had quite a good day today well sort of, took a friends glider plane (a toy one about 6ft wingspan) to Birdwood so he can deliver it to our friend in Nelson. Hit the op shop, yeah, fill a basket of clothes incl shoes for $5. Gman scored 4 short sleeved shirts, me a top,a little brush for Brian, a month's pill dispenser (new) and a set of plastic bowls (with lids) and another ceramic bowl for a bird bath. Pretty good for $7. Went to see what the block was up to and the weeds had returned, so G sprayed the block and we will go up there for a few days next week to mow them down. Also bought a few bits home, I want to put some insulation up for the birds as the tin gets really hot. The GP had my X/R results and it looks like I may be a contender for hip replacements in 5 - 10 years, just bloody great get rid of one thing and another bast--d thing tries to get you. So AJ has another thing to sort out and back to Mr Peter Penglis (Rheumatologist) for his assessment. Speaking of AJ she was so pleased with G's and my yard work yesterday she didn't see it until this morning. Might do a bit more whipper snipping if it doesn't get too hot. I was thinking of selling the block along with the bus and little Suzuki as a lot ?? what say you? Rang an old friend now living up Darwin way, says he is flooded but as long as his boat and cats are ok that's all he worries about. Ok time for bed, windows all open for the cool night and hot day tomorrow. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Deborah x :D where ever you may be . Stay safe everyone.

What a stinker today was. I didn't even poke my nose outside and the birds liked their misting fan so G told me. Watered the grass this evening, think the lawn beetles are back so gave them some food  watched the BOB's , Yesterday they went through Strath, even got my old place on tv. Having an AJ treatment tomorrow arvo. Tanks I hope you are coping ok. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Bobk x :D

Dot, stay careful in this heat mate. It's certainly knocking us down a lot xxxx

Tanks, hope the coppers keep looking after you xxx

It has been so hot, that we have both just withered and had super slow days. Around the heat, I have been doing some dealing with the old kiln. A lady was meant to be coming Thursday. So we were out of bed super early etc, only to get a message that she had to return to England for urgent family problem. I had checked her profile, she is English, so I suspect her message was quite true. She asked would I hold the kiln for her. Simple answer no. She has mucked me about several times already.

Later that day, the younger lady from the Blue Mountains, asked could she visit the kiln on Saturday. So she came, with her husband today, and asked a million questions. They stayed a few hours and when I was happy to see that she could work the controller and had enough written info given to her, they parted with money and loaded up their car. The rest of the day has been so hot, and we are just exhausted, so an easy afternoon was had by us.

I had another lady ask about the kiln last night, so let her know it's now sold. What I have learnt is that to really sell big things, the f**kbook marketplace is the best place to sell them. It had been on a couple of glass sites since November. I only added it to marketplace in the middle of last week as a sort of last ditch hope. Now I am not rich, but have some money to spend on other things.

Stay as cool as you can out there,
nighty night xxx
Deborah

Had a treatment today, helped AJ get her new toilet out of her car and a few pot bound plants out and into others . Started to get things up together to make the birds enclosure more insulated and also potted some plants up. Got our 1st tomato today looks like we might have a good crop so Robert n Bob might be in for some. George sprayed the roses as they have a bit of black spot. No one around tonight so I shall say take care everyone and goodnight to all x :D Goodnight Peter n Sandra x :D

You're back into the garden now Dot. Sounds like a bird haven is next on your list. xxxx

Last night we had such loud strong winds howling around, I couldn't get to sleep. I became aware of a smell in the wind, like a dead animal. All windows got closed and then it was hot. I finally got up at 6am, took some sinus tablets and woke up at 11. What a weird day.

I spent a few hours in my shed, tidying a weird looking bit. It needed a lot of trimming and sanding. Anyway, now it's having a long slow time to hopefully get it stretched into a shape that is more useful. We did a couple of tidying things this afternoon, but not much really happening here.
Hope to fit in a hammer shop trip tomorrow, I need supplies for a few odd jobs that are about to happen.

nighty night xxx

Today I repotted some Scotsman's kilts (plants) and my newly rooted Hoyas, upped the watering of the bamboos AJ gave me and with that I am buggered due to the heat. George got most of the insulating panel for the bird's cage. Off to whipper snip the dead weeds on the block, have to get a referral to see my Rheumatologist, has been 2 yrs since last seen as my GP is concerned my psoriatic arthritis may be responsible for all the weird ailments lately. Rang the RAH to see if he was still doing clinics there but NO he isn't so will have to go private again and depending on the reason for consult the waiting time could be around June :o . Depends on what the GP writes so I will ring her tomorrow and ask her to step it up a bit. Can barely walk these days etc so hope she can pull pull some strings. Tomorrow is going to be a nasty hot one and I might chicken out and stay home in the cool but the car can be cool as well. Glad you finally sold the kiln Deborah, there are some really rude people around on this Marketplace, useless farts can't ring to say not coming or whatever. Take care everyone weather you are up in the wet stuff or down this way in the heat, on the roads with the loonies, over the west where there was nothing of anything for a while apart from big heat and the east, well enough said. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Shirley x :D
